摘要： An electrochemical cell has an anode that includes an alkali metal, a cathode that includes fluorinated carbon, a separator between the anode and the cathode, a non-aqueous electrolyte in electrical contact with the anode and the cathode, and at least one of an electrolyte-insoluble additive in the cathode and a electrolyte-soluble additive comprising an oxygen and a nitrogen having an oxidation level higher than +2. Methods for manufacturing and using such cells are also disclosed. The cells are adapted to be stored for extended periods of time at a wide range of high and low temperatures with maintenance of enhanced rate capability and a reduced initial voltage delay.

摘要： A rechargeable electrochemical cell charging system is provided having a thermistor that engages the negative cell terminal at a location remote from the negative charge contact. The thermistor outputs temperature data to a controller in the charger that determines the rate of cell temperature increase. When the increase reaches a predetermined predetermined rate, the charge to the cell is discontinued. The cell can also include an air moving system that circulates cool ambient air through battery compartment to cool the batteries being charged.

In particular, a reversible pressure-responsive switch may be disposed in a cap at the open end of a rechargeable metal hydride cell. The reversible pressure-responsive switch may also contain a vent system for releasing the cell internal pressure. Alternatively, a rechargeable cell may include a strain gauge disposed in its outer surface whose resistance changes as the outer surface of the battery expands due to internal pressure accumulation during charging. Additionally, a rechargeable cell is used combination with a charging source that can supply constant voltage, constant current, alternating current, or voltage that varies between a minimum threshold and a maximum threshold.

An analysis unit receives spatial location identifiers and comparing the spatial locations with data to generate individualized weather output signals. A communication network receives the individualized weather output signals and transmitting the individualized output signals to the communicator devices.
