    摘要: There is disclosed image predictive coding apparatus and method, image predictive decoding apparatus and method, and recording medium which stores therein the image predictive coding method or the image predictive decoding method, of which the transform efficiency is remarkably improved in comparison with the prior art. According to the image predictive coding apparatus and method, when dividing inputted image data to be coded into image data of a plurality of small regions which are adjacent to each other and coding the image data of an objective small region to be processed among the image data of the plurality of divided small regions which are adjacent to each other, reconstructed image data of a reproduction small region adjacent to the image data of the objective small region to be processed is used as image data of an intra-frame prediction small region of the objective small region to be processed, the image data of the intra-frame prediction small region is used as image data of an optimum prediction small region and image data of a difference small region which are differences between the image data of the objective small region to be processed and the image data of the optimum prediction small region is generated. Then, the generated image data of the difference small region is coded and outputted, and then the coded image data of the difference small region is decoded, so that the reconstructed image data of the reproduction small region is generated by adding the decoded image data of the difference small region to the image data of the optimum prediction small region.

    摘要: A quantization matrix used in inverse quantization is generated. A received bitstream includes a coded truncated quantization matrix. The coded truncated quantization matrix has first coded bits and second coded bits. The first coded bits include bits obtained by coding a transmitting part of quantization elements and the second coded bits includes bits obtained by coding an end code. The coded truncated quantization matrix is decoded until the second coded bits corresponding to the end code are read out, to obtain the transmitting part of quantization elements. At least one additional quantization element is obtained. A complete quantization matrix is generated, using the transmitting part of quantization elements and at least one additional quantization element, by ordering the transmitting part of quantization elements and at least one additional quantization element in a zig-zag scan.

    摘要: A moving picture coding apparatus according to an embodiment is arranged to define a plurality of images in a moving picture two by two as targets to be coded. The images to be coded are decomposed into subbands, a high-subband signal and a low-subband signal, by a subband decomposing process. The high-subband signal is coded into a compressed high-subband signal by a first coding process and the low-subband signal is coded into a compressed low-subband signal by a second coding process. The compressed low-subband signal is decoded into a reproduced low-subband signal by a second decoding process. In the second coding process, a predicted signal for the low-subband signal to be coded is generated from a reproduced low-subband signal based on another low-subband signal, and a residual signal based on a difference between the low-subband signal to be coded and the reproduced low-subband signal is coded.
