摘要: A medical imaging system for illuminating tissue samples using three-dimensional structured illumination microscopy is port-based surgery is provided. The system comprises: an image sensor; a mirror device; zoom optics; a light modulator; a processor; and collimating optics configured to convey one or more images from the modulator to the mirror, the mirror configured to convey the images to the zoom optics, the zoom optics configured: to convey the image(s) from the mirror to a tissue sample; and convey one or more resulting images, formed by the image(s) illuminating the sample, back to the mirror, which conveys the resulting image(s) from the zoom optics to the image sensor, and, the processor configured to control the modulator to form the image(s), the image(s) including at least one pattern selected to interact with the sample to generate different depth information in each of resulting image(s).

摘要: A surgical camera system with automatic alternation between two depths of field is provided, comprising: a tunable iris configured to automatically alternate between a first depth of field (“DOF”) and a second DOF larger than the first DOF; one or more lenses configured to collect light using the iris; a body containing the iris and at least a portion of the lenses; a sensor configured to produce images from the light; a video processing unit configured to: produce an image stream from first images and second images produced by the sensor from the light, the first images acquired at the first DOF and the second images acquired at the second DOF; and adjust one or more lighting parameters of the first images and the second images prior to producing the image stream; and, a display device in communication with the video processing unit, configured to render the image stream.

The OCT system includes an OCT probe comprising: a body having a distal end and a proximal end; a positioner adapter located at the proximal end; a connector to an OCT analysis device, the connector located at the proximal end; and, an OCT scan lens located at the distal end. The OCT system further includes: a transparent material configured to planarize tissue at a scan plane of the OCT scan lens.

摘要: A medical navigation system for displaying a three dimensional (3D) surface video of a target is provided. The medical navigation system comprises a 3D imaging device, a camera, a display, and a controller electrically coupled to the 3D imaging device, the camera, and the display. The controller has a processor coupled to a memory. The controller is configured to perform calibration of input devices; acquire 3D depth data of the target from a signal generated by the 3D imaging device; construct a 3D surface contour of the target based on the 3D depth data; acquire a video stream of the target from a signal generated by the camera; generate a 3D surface video based on the 3D surface contour and the video stream; and display the 3D surface video on the display.

摘要: A device and method for guided insertion of microelectrodes into tissue is provided. The device includes a flexible optical fiber for optical coherence tomography imaging, a metal layer coating the optical fiber for recording electrical signals and an outer insulation layer coating the metal layer along the optical fiber length. The method includes inserting an optical fiber coated with a metal layer and further coated with an insulation layer into a tissue, collecting intraoperative image data through the optical fiber by optical coherence tomography, receiving the image data on a computer and displaying the image on a monitor, using the image data to determine a location in the tissue, receiving an electrical nerve signal through the metal layer and measuring the electrical nerve signal on a electrophysiological recording system.

摘要: Systems, devices and methods are provided for performing tissue removal and analysis based on the in-situ optical analysis of tissue and of liquid collected from the tissue region. In one example embodiment, a tissue removal and analysis probe includes an elongate tissue removal device, an optical fiber, and a fluid fillable conduit, where distal ends of the optical fiber and the conduit are in communication with an external region that is adjacent to a distal functional portion of the tissue removal device. The results of optical analysis one of both of external tissue and collected fluid may be employed to determine whether or not tissue removal is to be carried out. Various devices may be interfaced with the conduit for optical analysis of the collected fluid. In one example embodiment, the tissue removal device may be movable relative to the optical fiber and conduit.
