摘要: Digest playback apparatus and method for a VCR. The digest playback apparatus includes a system controller for outputting a plurality of control signals to control the entire operation of a video cassette recorder system, the plurality of control signals including speed-change multispeed and direction data and audio multispeed change mode ON/OFF data. An analog/digital conversion circuit converts an analog audio signal read by an audio head and then restored to its original state into digital audio data regardless of a speed-change mode. A memory stores the digital audio data from the analog/digital conversion circuit. A digital/analog conversion circuit converts the digital audio data stored in the memory into an analog audio signal, and a control circuit controls the analog/digital conversion circuit, the memory and the digital/analog conversion circuit to output the analog audio signal from the digital/analog conversion circuit as a 1 multispeed which allows the user to accurately listen to the output analog audio signal.

摘要: A method for deciding recording density of an optical disc easily decides and searches the kind and data recording status of a disc when reproducing a general CD and a high density CD. The method is performed by a recording step of recording classification of the general disc and the high density disc, and identification and recording density status of respective layers of the high density CD onto both a zero area of a lead-in region and a zero area of a Q channel of a subcode, and a reproducing step in which the zero area of the lead-in region is read out to decide the recording density status and positional information with respect to respective musics, and the linear velocity of the spindle motor, tracking servo and focusing servo are controlled with respect to the decided respective musics. Thus, it is easy to search the music while accurately controlling the spindle motor, focusing servo and tracking servo according to the recording density.

摘要: The present invention considers a method for active cancellation using independent component analysis. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method which is operable the independent component analysis technique to an adaptive algorithm that can consider secondary or more higher statistical characteristics. The conventional active noise cancellation systems mainly use the LMS(Least Mean Square) which considers secondary statistics among input signals.Being different from the conventional active noise cancellation systems, the present invention provides a method for active noise cancellation using independent component analysis, which makes output signals independent of each other by considering secondary or more higher statistical characteristics. Therefore, according to the present invention, the improved performances of the noise cancellation systems can be provided compared with the conventional active noise cancellation system which uses the LMS adaptive algorithm.

摘要: The present invention discloses an implementation of the selective attention mechanism occurring in the human brain using a conventional neural network, multi-layer perceptron and the error back-propagation method as a conventional learning method, and an application of the selective attention mechanism to perception of patterns such as voices or characters. In contrast to the conventional multi-layer perceptron and error back-propagation method in which the weighted value of the network is changed based on a given input signal, the selective attention algorithm of the present invention involves learning a present input pattern to minimize the error of the output layer with the weighted value set to a fixed value, so that the network can receive only a desired input signal to simulate the selective attention mechanism in the aspect of the biology. The present invention also used the selective attention algorithm to define the degree of attention to a plurality of candidate classes as a new criterion for perception, thus providing high perception performance relative to the conventional recognition system for a single candidate class.

摘要: The present invention relates to a microdisk laser with a unidirectional generation property, and more particularly, to a microdisk laser designed in the form of a triangle, wherein the incident angles of portions of a laser beam at two upper sides of the triangle are greater than a critical angle to cause total reflection, so that the laser beam generates with directionality toward the base of the triangle. To this end, in the microdisk laser with the unidirectional generation property, the laser takes the shape of a triangle with two upper sides and the base and the two upper sides have their lengths greater than or equal to that of the base. Respective vertexes of the triangle or some of the vertexes are curved, and incident angles of portions of a laser beam at the two upper sides of the triangle are greater than a critical angle to cause total reflection, so that the laser beam generates with directionality toward the base of the triangle.
