Described is a fibrous substrate treatment composition having a) 20-99.5% by weight of a silicone polyether polymer and b) 0.5-4% by weight of a cationic surfactant or a mixture of cationic and nonionic surfactant; wherein the silicone polyether polymer has 6-100% by weight of formula (I) or (II) and 0-94% by weight of repeat units from ethylenically unsaturated comonomers;
wherein a and b are integers of 1 to 40 where a+b is an integer of at least 2; c and d are integers of 0 to 20; e is an integer of 1 to 40; X is a linear or branched C1-C4 alkylene group; R1 is a C1-C4 alkyl group; and R2 is —C(R1)═CH2 or polymer backbone unit —[C(R1)—CH2]— bonded at C(R1). Treatments exhibit improved balance of water repellency and oily stain release performance.

The present invention relates to a coating composition having a coating base and 0.1 to 10% by weight of an additive compound, based on the total solids weight of the coating, where the additive compound is at least one of an alkali metal salt of poly(meth)acrylic acid or copolymer thereof, ammonium compound or amine salt of poly(meth)acrylic acid or copolymer thereof, silicone polyether, alkali metal salt of silicone polyether carboxylate, ammonium compound or amine salt of silicone polyether carboxylate, salt of hydrolyzed α-olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer, salt of esterified α-olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer, α-olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer amic acid resin or salt thereof, polycarboxylate calcium sequestrants, or mixtures thereof; and where the coating base is an architectural paint, architectural stain, or architectural clear coating. Such coatings exhibit improved stain cleaning performance.

The present invention discloses a method of imparting water repellency and optionally stain release to fibrous substrates by contacting a fibrous substrate with a non-fluorinated laundry treatment composition inside a laundry machine. The laundry treatment composition contains a hydrophobic organic urethane compound having a urethane linkage and the residue of a substituted cyclic or acyclic sugar alcohol. Laundry additive compositions containing a first laundry treatment composition, having a hydrophobic organic urethane compound, and a second laundry treatment composition are also included.
