    摘要: A camera zoom lens automatic magnification apparatus for automatically changing the focal length of a zoom lens wherein distances to at least three points on a subject--at the center, to the left and to the right--in the angle of view are measured by a range finding device and a zoom lens driving device for changing the focal length of the zoom lens is controlled by a control device according to the output of the range finding device. The control device consists of a first decision device to decide which point is the nearest by comparing the distances to each point measured by the range finding device, a second decision device which, based on the lens focal length corresponding to the closest distance as found by the first decision device and on the depth of field for that focal length, checks if there is any other point's distance that is within the depth of field for that focal length, a third decision device which determines the zoom ratio according to a predetermined program using the result of the second decision device, and an output device which drives the zoom lens driving device according to the third decision device.

    摘要: An automatic focusing system includes an active range finding system and a passive range finding system. An initial measurement is made by the active range finding system. If the initial measurement indicates that the lens focus is within a predetermined scope, control of further focusing is transferred immediately to the passive range finding system. If this condition is not met initially, lens focusing begins based on data from the active range finding system. The difference between measured range and the distance at which the lens is focused is monitored. When this difference falls below the predetermined scope, the range finding function is transferred to the passive range finding system. Also, the variance between the distance measured by the active range finding system and the distance at which the lens is focused is used to determine a degree of blur. If the degree of blur is less than a predetermined blur, the range finding function is transferred to the passive range finding system. In one embodiment, the active range finding system employs a plurality of spaced-apart light emitters that illuminate physically spaced-apart objects.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a transfer member that retains developer; a housing provided with a removing member that removes the developer and having an intake opening that is opposed to the transfer member, the developer removed by the removing member being taken into the housing through the intake opening; a guiding pipe connected to the housing and having a suction hole through which the developer is sucked and an outlet through which the developer is discharged; and a suction member that applies a suction force to an inner space of the housing through the guiding pipe. A capturing area for capturing the developer that flows through a flow channel from the suction hole to the outlet is provided in the flow channel. A cross section of the capturing area in a radial direction of the flow channel is larger than that of other areas.

    摘要: The paper feeding apparatus includes a manual feed tray, a spindle, a rotation lever, a cam, an operation shaft, a projection portion, an operation arm, and a stopper. The paper feeding apparatus is able to switch to/from automatic and manual paper feeds for stable loading of paper on the paper loading board and manual paper feed. The manual feed tray is openable/closable by turning around the spindle. The rotation lever and the cam are fixed on the operation shaft. When the manual feed tray is opened, the projection portion pushes the rotation lever. When the manual feed tray is closed, the cam touches the backside of the operation arm and the stopper rises. When the manual feed tray is opened, the rotation lever is pushed by the projection portion and the cam rotates in the clockwise direction separating from the backside of the operation arm. The stopper, consequently, is lowered.

    摘要: A printing device includes a sheet feeding mechanism that feeds the recording sheet by a predetermined amount at a time, a carriage that is movable, substantially at a constant speed, in a direction substantially perpendicular to a sheet feeding direction, and a print head mounted on the carriage. The print head is capable of simultaneously forming a plurality of print lines when the carriage moves. The print head is controlled to print a first print pattern that is formed by part of the plurality of print lines on an upstream side. The recording sheet is fed by the predetermined amount after the first pattern is formed. Thereafter, a second print pattern that is formed by part of the plurality of print lines on a downstream side after the recording sheet is fed. At least a part of the first print pattern overlaps a part of the second print pattern.
