    摘要: When line trouble occurs in an optical network, the restoration time can be reduced. A transponder 21 includes an active line and a standby line 43, and a transponder 22 includes an active line 42 and a standby line 44. The standby line 44 of the transponder 22 is accommodated in the same optical line as the active line 41 of the transponder 21. Upon detection of line trouble, the receiving transponder 24 acquires a VDC setting value for the active line 41, and sets the VDC setting value for the standby line 44 on the basis of the acquired VDC setting value.

    摘要: A displaceable print cartridge chute for an inkjet printer. The chute holding the print cartridges is displaceable from the carriage that sweeps the cartridges relative to the media during printing. The chute can be moved from a printing position engaged with the carriage to a service position adjacent a side of the printer so as to facilitate installation and removal of the cartridges through the side rather than the top of the printer. Because cartridges are serviced through the side, a printer incorporating the displaceable print cartridge chute can be stacked with other electronic equipment.

    摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a diagnosis method for standby systems in an optical ring network having a redundant configuration, which can confirm normal states of standby systems in all optical transmission apparatuses on the network, even during operations of active systems. To this end, in the present diagnosis method for standby systems, when a diagnosis start command is given to an arbitrary optical transmission apparatus on the network, the optical transmission apparatus provides a false signal to a standby system unit to diagnoses an operation state thereof, and transmits the result to the optical transmission apparatus on the downstream side by utilizing overhead information in the active system optical channel. The optical transmission apparatus on the downstream side confirms a normal operation on the upstream side, thereafter, diagnoses the operation state of the standby system by utilizing the false signal, and updates the overhead information of the active system optical channel corresponding to the diagnosis result, to transmit the updated information to the optical transmission apparatus on the further downstream side. According to the overhead information of the active system optical channel, which has made a round of the ring network, normal operations of the standby system units in all optical transmission apparatuses on the network are confirmed, to thereby finish the standby system diagnosis.
