Pharmaceutical preparations for oral administration are disclosed which comprise (a) an acidic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent having the mean particle size of about 100 .mu.m or less and (b) a protein hydrolyzate or a polypeptide having the mean molecular weight of 4000-12000. The pharmaceutical preparations are in the form of tablets, granules, capsules and dry syrups. They achieve high bioavailability of the anti-inflammatory agent, e.g., ibuprofen.

The use of isoquinoline derivatives for the treatment of glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The isoquinoline derivatives are of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group and R.sub.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group. The stability of the isoquinoline derivatives when used in the form of a solution is improved by incorporating therein compounds having a phenolic hydroxyl group and/or glycols serving as a stabilizer.

A gate drive circuit including dead time control circuits delaying on periods of switching elements S1, S2 based on a control signal; driving circuits; and monitor circuits. Each of the monitor circuits includes a current source and an N-type FET in which the source is connected to the gate of one of the switching elements; the drain is connected to the current source; and a predetermined voltage is applied to the gate. When an off state of one of the switching elements is detected, the N-type FET Qn outputs an off signal to the dead time control circuit on the other switching element side. Based on the off signal, the dead time control circuit on the other switching element side terminates an operation of delaying the on period of the other switching element.

The present invention provides a retainer for a pipe connecting device, capable of being disengaged from a pipe without using any special disconnecting tool when disconnecting the pipe from the connector housing, and of remaining on a connector housing without being separated together with the pipe from the connector housing when the pipe is disconnected from the connector. A retainer (17) of an elastic material is interposed between a pipe (14) and a connector housing (15) in a known manner. When the pipe connecting device is in a connecting state, first catching edges (26a) of a pair of flexible catching parts (26) formed in a middle part of the retainer (17) are in engagement with a stopping protrusion (18) formed on the pipe (14), second catching parts (26b) lie in openings (20) formed in the connector housing (15) and are in engagement with support bars (19). Parts near the pair of second catching edges (26b) are connected integrally by fixed walls (28) serving as a spacing means. When operating knobs (25) formed opposite to each other on one end of the retainer (17) are pressed toward each other by fingers, parts near the pair of second catching edges (26b) serve as fixed fulcra, the first catching edges (26a) on one side of the flexible catching parts (26) opposite the side of the operating knobs (25) are displaced outward and are disengaged from the stopping protrusion (18) of the pipe (14). Then, the pipe (14) can be disconnected from the connector housing (15), and the retainer (17) remains on the connector housing (15).

A main pipe is lined using a pipe lining material that blocks the opening of a lateral pipe branching from the main pipe. An in-pipe work robot is provided with a cutting nozzle for spraying a pressurized fluid material or pressurized granular material onto the pipe lining material of the main pipe. The cutting nozzle is moved to a predetermined position inside the main pipe and rotated about a vertical axis by a rotary mechanism to cut the lining material between the first and second pipes by the pressurized fluid material or pressurized granular material sprayed from the cutting nozzle in order to form an opening for communicating the main pipe with the lateral pipe. The cutting nozzle can be moved in desired positions to drill holes accurately without damaging the internal peripheral surface of the lateral pipe.

A method is proposed for manufacturing a pipe-lining material comprising a tubular resin absorbent material covered with a tube comprised of an airtight plastic film. The tubular resin absorbent material is inserted into the tube, expanded in a columnar shape, and brought into close contact with the internal peripheral surface of the tube. A heater is wound in close contact with the external peripheral surface of the tube thus expanded. The tube and the tubular resin absorbent material are heated by energizing the heater, and the tube is thereby heat-fused to the tubular resin absorbent material. With such a method, a mechanism for moving the tube and the tubular resin absorbent material is not required. In addition, since heat non-uniformities are not generated, the tube can be uniformly heat-fused to the tubular resin absorbent material, thereby enabling a high-quality pipe-lining material to be manufactured.
