摘要: There is a tire having tire performances such as wear resistance, cut resistance, heat build-up and the like and a processability simultaneously and economically improved by the application of a rubber composition containing a rubbery polymer modified with a silane compound and silica. The rubbery polymer modified with the silane compound is obtained by reacting an active terminal of a living polymer, which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer in the presence of an organic alkali metal catalyst, with a silane compound represented by the following general formula:X.sub.n Si(OR).sub.m R'.sub.4-m-n(where X is a halogen atom selected from a chlorine atom, a bromine atom and an iodine atom, OR is a non-hydrolyzable alkoxy group having a carbon number of 4.about.20, an aryloxy group or a cycloalkoxy group, R' is an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1.about.20, an aryl group, a vinyl group or a halogenated alkyl group, m is an integer of 1.about.4, n is an integer of 0.about.2, and a sum of n and m is 2.about.4), which is contained in an amount of not less than 10% by weight as a rubber ingredient, and silica is contained in an amount of 5.about.200 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the rubber ingredient.

摘要: In a method of manufacturing amorphous metal ribbons by ejecting molten metal through a nozzle attached to a tundish onto a rapidly moving cooling body, the molten metal is suppled to the tundish by first pouring the molten metal from a ladle into an intermediate vessel and then by supplying the molten metal from the intermediate vessel to the tundish through a gas-lift pump. An apparatus for supplying molten metal to a tundish comprises an intermediate vessel adjacent to the tundish and a gas-lift pump to supply the molten metal from the intermediate vessel to the tundish. The molten metal is poured from a ladle into the intermediate vessel. The gas-lift pump has a pump proper that is placed over the intermediate vessel and tundish so that its inlet and outlet open in the intermediate vessel and tundish, respectively. Bubbles are suppled into the pump proper through its inlet.

摘要: In a liquid crystal display device (10) according to the present invention, a retardation plate (12) and a polarizer plate (13) are stacked on one side of a liquid crystal panel (11). A second retardation plate (14) and a second polarizer plate (15) are stacked on the other side of the liquid crystal panel (11). The liquid crystal panel (11) has a pair of transparent substrates, i.e., a first transparent substrate (21) and a second transparent substrate (22), and a nematic liquid crystal layer (32) is interposed between the pair of transparent substrates. A semi-transmissive film (26) is provided on an inner surface of the second transparent substrate (22). The semi-transmissive film has both a light reflective property and a light transmissive property. When the liquid crystal display device (10) is operative in the reflective mode, light passing through the liquid crystal layer (32) is reflected on the semi-transmissive film (26). On the other hand, when the liquid crystal display device (10) is operative in the transmissive mode, internal illumination light passes through the transparent substrate (22) and the semi-transmissive film (26) into the liquid crystal layer (32).

摘要: A segment electrode group 10 is passed through a lower side portion of a sealing resin 7 to be connected to a connection terminal group for segment electrode 8. A connection terminal group for common electrode 6 is juxtaposed to the connection terminal group for segment electrode 8 along the lower side portion of the sealing resin 7. The connection terminal group for common electrode 6 is connected to a wiring pattern 5 through the lower side portion of the sealing resin 7. The wiring pattern 5 passes through an area between a right side portion of the sealing resin 7 and a display area 3 to be connected to a conduction portion between substrates Q1. The conduction portion between substrates Q1 contains numerous conductive particles so as to electrically connect the wiring pattern 5 and a common electrode group 4 to each other. By this arrangement, downsizing of a liquid crystal display device can be accomplished.
