Abstract:
An apparatus for selectively injecting a reagent into a reaction chamber from a plurality of reagent reservoirs disposed in a circular configuration includes a separate dispenser mounted on each reagent reservoir. A vertically extending rod having a horizontally extending lever connected thereto is positioned concentrically within the circular array of reservoirs and drive motors are provided for rotating and reciprocating the rod and lever to selectively engage and operate the desired dispenser. Each dispenser is provided with its own distribution tube which directs the reagent in the reservoir directly into a selected reaction chamber, thereby preventing cross contamination of the reagents.

An automated analyzer for automatically assaying a specific component in a sample by utilizing a top-opened reaction vessel containing a reagent capable of reacting with the specific component, and which is sealed with a seal foil on which a symbol for the reagent is shown: said analyzer comprising a seal foil breaker for breaking the seal foil, a sample dispenser for dispensing the sample to the vessel, and a detector for detecting a reaction signal caused by a reaction with the specific component and the reagent; a transfer device for transferring the reaction vessel and a symbol discriminator for discriminating the symbol shown on the seal foil, which is placed at a position on a transfer route of the reaction vessels transferred by the transfer device and at a position before the seal-foil breaker.

An automatic immunoassay analyzer includes first and second conveyors which support a plurality of speciment vessels and reaction vessels, respectively. Both conveyors are rotated synchronously and continuously in the same direction by first and second conveyor driving devices. A division-pouring device sucks a speciment from a speciemen vessel stopped at a suction stage and pours a portion thereof into a reaction vessel stopped at a division-pouring stage. A holding device stops and holds one of the specimen vessels transferred into the suction stage for a predetermined time period in which the reaction vessel(s) holding measurement analytes to be tested for the respective specimen are transferred and stopped sequentially at the division-pouring stage. The analyzer reduces operator error, and ensures alignment of the reaction vessels with the appropriate specimen to be tested.

A glass cutter is provided which can form, using a wheel, a uniform crack in glass even when a projection or an earlier-formed scribe line is present on the glass. When the wheel is moved on the glass, a fracture layer is formed causing a rib mark to be formed below the fracture layer and a crack to be formed below the rib mark. To cut the glass, the crack is required to be formed uniformly. Applying a force to resist the rotating force of the wheel makes it possible to form a uniform crack even when a projection is present on the glass. This improves glass cutting yield.

The sleeve portion includes an inner sleeve cylindrical portion and an outer sleeve cylindrical portion. An upper seal portion is arranged between the outer circumferential surface of the upper plate cylindrical portion and the inner circumferential surface of the outer sleeve cylindrical portion. A lower seal portion is arranged between the outer circumferential surface of the outer sleeve cylindrical portion and the inner circumferential surface of the lower plate cylindrical portion. At least a portion of the upper seal portion and at least a portion of the lower seal portion radially overlap with a radial gap between the outer circumferential surface of the shaft portion and the inner circumferential surface of the inner sleeve cylindrical portion.

Process for injecting a minute volume of a solution from a nozzle device by positive pressure applied from a source of compressed air with or without positive pressure applied in parallel from a cylinder device, comprising applying the positive pressure from the compressed air source at least in a final period of injection. The process enables in injecting minute volumes of solution to remarkably decrease the injection error due to a small fraction of solution remaining at the lower end of the nozzle and can be applied to advantage to those apparatus for analyses and measurements which strictly require precision in injection.

A distance between a liquid crystal display panel set on a lower support mechanism and a front window set on an upper support mechanism is accurately determined by a stopper. An ultraviolet irradiation mask is provided on the front window. A part of the ultraviolet curable resin corresponding to a transmission pattern of the ultraviolet irradiation mask is temporarily cured through ultraviolet irradiation. The temporarily adhered structure of the liquid crystal display panel and the front window is taken from an attachment device to be left standing for a predetermined time period on a tray until an area and a thickness of the ultraviolet curable resin reach respective predetermined values. The ultraviolet light is then irradiated to an entire surface of the ultraviolet curable resin to finalize the adhesion. The time for which the attachment device is occupied is short, thus improving an operation rate of the device.

A solid-liquid separating apparatus is provided with: a separating roll which has a substantially cylindrical shape with a plurality of through holes, which penetrate between an inner surface and an outer surface in radial direction thereof, and is rotatable in circumferential direction thereof; and a pair of separating filter cloths which is endless belts capable of traveling in a rotation direction of the separating roll and are wound around the outer circumference of the separating roll so as to overlap each other, wherein a material supplied between the pair of filter cloths is squeezed by being rolled together with the pair of filter cloths therebetween on the outer circumference of the separating roll, and the material is dehydrated by ventilating via each through hole.

A device for controlling multi-window display on a screen includes a screen-operation detecting unit which detects user screen operations including a user operation of a pointer on the screen. The device further includes a control unit which controls a window to increase an amount of information displayed therein when said screen-operation detecting unit detects a move of the pointer into an area of the window.
