摘要: A light spot position control system of the invention uses an optical disc in which a servo area and a data area are alternately formed along a rotating direction of a rotary recording medium, wherein error signals obtained from the servo areas are sampled, the latest sample value is compared with at least one-preceding sample value, a check is made to see if the latest sample value is correct or incorrect, and when the latest sample value is decided to be incorrect, the preceding error signal held is directly used as a light spot position control signal without updating the current error signal holding value.

摘要: A non-contact IC card communication in which power consumption of a driver of a reader/writer is reduced and the size of a power supply circuit for operating the driver is made small. The driver has a low output impedance. A current detecting circuit including a detecting coil magnetically coupled with a transceiver coil of the reader/writer through a magnetic coiling element and a resistor detects a current which flows through the transceiver coil. A voltage drop to be detected is small and is approximately constant for a variation of the transceiver coil current. When data is read from an IC card, a load of the driver is changed. The driver drives the transceiver coil in a constant voltage fashion even if a current flowing through the transceiver coil changes due to the change in load. Input voltages of a rectifying/smoothing circuit and a regulator in the IC card become approximately constant. As a result, the amplitude of a high frequency output voltage of the driver can be made small. Also, a high frequency signal current sent from a reader/writer is subjected to double modulation including amplitude modulation by card data and modulation by second information, such as information indicative of the abnormality of an IC card, in synchronism with a timing at which data transmission between the reader/writer and the card is made, and the second information is extracted by the reader/writer.

摘要: In an apparatus for tracking an optical disc, speed in acquiring a steady tracking condition is significant. That is, if the light beam is subjected to feedback while it is positioned in a positive feedback region, e.g., in the middle of adjoining tracks, the track servo system causes an oscillation. Therefore, according to the present invention, there is effected a comparison between the magnitude of signals from two pits disposed offset from the track and a pit on the track to determine the position of the light beam so that the tracking error signal may be inversed when the light beam is positioned in the middle of adjoining tracks. This will operate the tracking system in the negative feedback region to more quickly achieve a stable tracking state.

摘要: A disk-like optical information recording medium in/from which information can be optically recorded/reproduced along a virtual track virtually defined in a spiral or concentric circular form on the recording medium is provided with a pair of wobbling pits provided for each predetermined data record unit and shifted in position in opposite senses of a radius direction with respect to a virtual track center and a group of at least two pits provided at specified positions in association with a leading one of the paired wobbling pits. The pit group forms together with the leading wobbling pit a mark following a predetermined modulation rule applied upon recording of information and changes between tracks adjacent to each other in the radius direction. An apparatus for recording/reproducing information in/from the recording medium includes an optical system for irradiating the recording medium with write-in light modulated in accordance with externally inputted recording information and irradiating the recording medium with reproduction light to detect light reflected therefrom, a detecting and decoding circuit inputted with a detection output of the optical system for detecting a position of the mark on the basis of a decoding method corresponding to the predetermined modulation rule, and a movement amount detecting circuit inputted with the mark position from the detecting and decoding circuit for detecting a change in relative position between a reproduced position on the recording medium and the optical system.

摘要: In a radio receiving apparatus, an analog received signal is converted into a digital received signal. An unwanted wave in an adjacent channel band is rejected, that is adjacent to a passband for the digital received signal. The digital received signal with no unwanted wave is converted into a first demodulated signal. The first demodulated signal is converted into a second demodulated signal in analog form. A noise component is extracted from the first demodulated signal. The second demodulated signal is suppressed under squelch control when a squelch voltage that is a voltage of the noise component after rectification and smoothing becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold level.
