Provided is an LED module and an illumination device having high color saturation, which improve vividness of color of an illuminated object even if color temperature of ambient light is high, and consequently are able to reproduce colors of the object as desired. Blue LEDs have peak wavelength of 420 nm to 470 nm and FWHM of greater than 0 nm and no greater than 50 nm. A green phosphor has peak wavelength of 500 nm to 535 nm and FWHM of 100 nm to 110 nm. A red phosphor has peak wavelength of 610 nm to 670 nm and FWHM of 85 nm to 95 nm. Mixed-color light of the blue, green and red light has correlated color temperature of 4600 K to 7200 K and Duv of −12 to −6.

An image reading apparatus capable of reading an image from a sheet is provided. A sheet path to eject the sheet after being read may be selectively switched between a first ejection path to eject the sheet to an ejection unit and a second ejection path to eject the sheet on an outlet cover, which is openable/closable to a casing of the image reading apparatus. When the outlet cover is moved to open, a flapper arranged in a branch point between the first ejection path and the second ejection path moved in conjunction with the opening motion of the outlet cover, and the sheet path is switched from the first ejection path to the second ejection path. Further, a plurality of arms in a cover motion detector having a linkage mechanism rotate, and the rotating motions are detectable by a detector switch arranged at a terminal of the linkage mechanism.

Provided is a fluorescent lamp composed of a bulb and bases provided at base ends. The bulb includes (a) a circumferential wall whose inner surface is coated with a fluorescent layer and (b) end walls each partially composed of a stem to which an electrode is attached, the stem being plate-shaped. The bases are each provided covering a corresponding one of the stems such that at least part of each end wall other than the stem is exposed. An inner surface of each stem is positioned closer to a center of the bulb in a bulb axis direction than an imaginary plane containing a corresponding edge of the bulb is.

A media cartridge autoloader including first and second media cartridge transport magazines is disclosed. A magazine drive includes a drive shaft unit, a drive shaft unit shifting mechanism, and a magazine drive motor module. A mechanism that rotates a turntable of a media cartridge picker is also used to move the drive shaft unit such that the drive shaft unit is selectively coupled with either one of the first or second media cartridge transport magazines. A drive shaft of the drive shaft unit is driven by a magazine drive motor of the magazine drive motor module, so that the coupled media cartridge transport magazine is driven.

Processes for conveniently and economically producing L-arabinose, enzyme-treated products containing L-arabinose, diet foods and diabetic foods containing L-arabinose with dietary fiber, and fruit or vegetable juices containing L-arabinose are provided. (1) A process for producing L-arabinose by treating a natural material containing arabinan, arabinoxylan or arabinogalactan with an enzyme having an activity of acting on natural substances containing arabinan, arabinoxylan or arabinogalactan and thus releasing L-arabinose to give L-arabinose, characterized in that the above-described natural substance is directly treated with the above-described enzyme without separating or extracting arabinan, arabinoxylan or arabinogalactan. (2) A process for producing a diet food and a diabetic food characterized by comprising treating a dietary fiber material originating in a natural substance containing arabinan, arabinoxylan or arabinogalactan with an enzyme which degrades arabinan, arabinoxylan or arabinogalactan to give an enzyme-treated product containing L-arabinose and dietary fiber, and adding the thus obtained enzyme-treated product to a food. (3) An L-arabinose-containing fruit or vegetable juice characterized by containing an L-arabinose-containing fraction obtained by treating a fruit or vegetable press cake containing arabinan, arabinoxylan or arabinogalactan with an enzyme, and a process for producing the same.

In order to determine the routes of wiring connections on a multi-layer circuit board, to form a suitable wiring pattern without local congestions of the wiring connections, the wiring region of the circuit board is considered as one or more areas. For each area, a preferred wiring direction is determined for each layer of the circuit board. Those preferred directions for the layers may be determined by proposing initial preferred wiring directions for each layer, determining whether there is congestion of the wiring connections in any area, and changing the wiring direction for one or more layers of such an area to reduce the congestion. Alternatively, the wiring directions can be determined for each layer without there being an initial wiring direction which is common to all areas. Furthermore, an excess number value may be obtained, which is the sum by which the desired number of wiring connections of an area exceed a predetermined value, for a series of candidate wiring directions of the layers of the area, and then the candidate is selected which has the minimum excess value.
