摘要: A control device for an internal combustion engine is configured, where a designated cam switching condition is met, to execute a boost pressure control processing and an air amount control processing. In the boost pressure control processing, the control device controls a boost pressure control device such that a boost pressure control parameter does not increase in synchronization with execution of a cam switching operation and decreases in accordance with an increase of a required engine torque after the execution of the cam switching operation. In the air amount control processing, the control device controls the opening degree of a throttle valve to its closed side in synchronization with the cam switching operation such that a difference of an in-cylinder charge air amount is not produced before and after the execution of the cam switching operation.

摘要: In a multiple cylinder supercharged engine, when reduced cylinder operation is executed, a throttle, which is located downstream of a compressor driven by a turbine provided in an exhaust passage, through which exhaust gas of a cylinder group flows, is operated to a fully closed state, wherein the reduced cylinder operation is applied to the cylinder group. A fuel injection amount of at least one cylinder included in the cylinder group is made smaller than a fuel injection amount of a cylinder included in another cylinder group, and this at least one cylinder is operated, in order to increase rotational speed of the compressor, so that a value of pressure of an upstream side of the throttle is controlled to a value, which is equal to or larger than a value of pressure of a downstream side of the throttle.

摘要: According to first quantity of state control, a rich spike is executed while actuating a WGV so as to decrease turbocharging pressure, and after completion of the rich spike, the WGV is actuated to raise the turbocharging pressure again, the combustion air-fuel ratio is adjusted to the theoretical air-fuel ratio while suppressing an air amount by a throttle so as not to vary shaft torque until the turbocharging pressure is restored, and upon the turbocharging pressure being restored the air amount is increased by the throttle and the combustion air-fuel ratio is returned to a lean air-fuel ratio. According to second quantity of state control, a rich spike is executed while actuating the WGV so as to maintain the turbocharging pressure, and after completion of the rich spike, the air amount is increased by the throttle and the combustion air-fuel ratio is returned to a lean air-fuel ratio.

The control device is configured, in causing the cam switching device to perform a cam switching operation, to perform energization of the actuator such that the engagement pin is seated on a forward outer peripheral surface, and to more lower, when an electric current (coil current) flowing through the actuator as a result of the energization is greater, an average electric voltage per unit time applied to the actuator in protruding the engagement pin toward the cam groove from the forward outer peripheral surface.

摘要: At crank angle CA10 at which the switch request of the drive cam was issued, the ejection operations of the pins at all the solenoid actuators started simultaneously. The ejected pins are seated on the cam carriers at crank angle CA12. The pin seated on the cam carrier moves along the grooves in accordance with the rotation of the cam carrier. The earliest finish timing of the switch operation of the drive cam is at crank angle CA13 (#4 cylinder). At the crank angle CA13, drive of the fuel injector and the ignition device in each cylinder is permitted.

摘要: When a stop request to the engine is issued, it is determined whether or not all of the drive cams are large cams. When it is determined that at least one of the small cams is included in the drive cams, the engine is continued to drive for a while and a switch control for switching the drive cams from the small cams to the large cams is executed within the duration. A self-holding type solenoid is used to switch between the small cams and the large cams. In the switch control, a permission to stop the engine is output at a timing when the “pin protrudable section” of the final cylinder #2 has elapsed.

摘要: A time point t0 represents a time point when a turbocharged engine is brought into a decelerating state, and an opening degree of a throttle valve is decreased. A time point t1 represents a time point when an opening command to an ABV is issued. When the ABV has an abnormality, and when a WGV is stuck open, a turbocharging pressure before the time point t0 shows a tendency to fall below a target turbocharging pressure, and a turbocharging pressure after the time point t1 reduces slowly to approach a predetermined pressure. When the WGV is stuck closed, a turbocharging pressure before the time point t0 shows a tendency to exceed the target turbocharging pressure, and the turbocharging pressure after the time point t1 reduces with vigor to approach the predetermined pressure.

摘要: A target air amount for achieving a requested torque is back-calculated from the requested torque using a virtual air-fuel ratio. The virtual air-fuel ratio is changed from a first air-fuel ratio to a second air-fuel ratio in response to a condition for switching an operation mode being satisfied. After the virtual air-fuel ratio is changed, the target air-fuel ratio is maintained at the first air-fuel ratio until the ignition timing reaches a retardation limit. Subsequently, in response to the ignition timing reaching the retardation limit, the target air-fuel ratio is switched from the first air-fuel ratio to a third air-fuel ratio. After switching of the target air-fuel ratio, in response to a difference between the target air amount and an estimated air amount becoming equal to or less than a threshold value, the target air-fuel ratio is switched from the third air-fuel ratio to the second air-fuel ratio.

摘要: In a system that selects a large-cam as a driving cam at a time of a start of an engine, when an engine stop request is output, it is determined whether there is a small-cam cylinder for which a small-cam is selected as the driving cam. In a case where it is determined that there is a small-cam cylinder, a switching command for switching the driving cam from the small-cam to the large-cam is output. When an engine start request is output, the above determination is performed again. In a case where it is determined that there is a small-cam cylinder, the switching command is output to all solenoid actuators again. In addition, the drive of the fuel injector is suspended until the switching operation of the driving cam is completed for all cylinders.
