摘要: An exhaust gas control system of an internal combustion engine includes an EGR device, a three-way catalyst, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to control the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the three-way catalyst such that the air-fuel ratio when the electronic control unit executes EGR control during execution of fuel cut control and then executes the enrichment processing after the execution of the fuel cut control ends to be a higher air-fuel ratio in a range of the rich air-fuel ratio compared to the air-fuel ratio when the EGR control is not executed during the execution of the fuel cut control.

摘要: The exhaust purification system comprises an exhaust purification catalyst, downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor, and control device. The control device performs average air-fuel ratio control which alternately sets a target average air-fuel ratio between a rich air-fuel ratio and a lean air-fuel ratio and inter-cylinder air-fuel ratio control which controls the target air-fuel ratios of the cylinders so that the target air-fuel ratio becomes the rich air-fuel ratio at least at one cylinder among the plurality of cylinders even if the target average air-fuel ratio is set to the lean air-fuel ratio. The control device uses a cumulative value of a first oxygen amount from when switching the target average air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio to when again switching it to the rich air-fuel ratio and a cumulative value of a second oxygen amount from when switching the target average air-fuel ratio to the rich air-fuel ratio to when again switching it to the lean air-fuel ratio as the basis for correcting a parameter relating to the air-fuel ratio so that the difference of these becomes smaller as learning control.

摘要: The internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust purification catalyst able to store oxygen, and a downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor arranged at a downstream side of the exhaust purification catalyst in a direction of exhaust flow. The control system performs feedback control of an amount of fuel fed to a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine so that an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust purification catalyst becomes a target air-fuel ratio and performs learning control to correct a parameter relating to the feedback control based on an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas detected by the downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor. The target air-fuel ratio is alternately switched between a rich set air-fuel ratio and a lean set air-fuel ratio leaner. When a condition for learning acceleration, which is satisfied when it is necessary to accelerate correction of the parameter by the learning control, is satisfied, a rich degree of the rich set air-fuel ratio is increased. Therefore, there is provided an internal combustion engine able to suitably change the speed of updating the learning value.

When the amount of oxygen absorbed by the exhaust purification catalyst during lean control reaches or exceeds a criterion storage amount, a control is executed to switch to rich control. In addition, a control is executed to set the lean air-fuel ratio setting for a first intake air amount so as to be richer than the lean air-fuel ratio setting for a second intake air amount that is less than the first intake air amount.

摘要: A control system of an internal combustion engine which can suppress a drop in the purification performance of an exhaust purification catalyst is provided. The control system of an internal combustion engine is provided with an exhaust purification catalyst and downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor, performs feedback control so that an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas which flows into the exhaust purification catalyst becomes a target air-fuel ratio, and performs target air-fuel ratio setting control which alternately switches the target air-fuel ratio to a lean set air-fuel ratio which is leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and a rich set air-fuel ratio which is richer than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. In the control system, when an engine operating state is a steady operating state, compared with when it is not a steady operating state, at least one of a rich degree of the rich set air-fuel ratio or a lean degree of the lean set air-fuel ratio is made to increase.

摘要: An object is to supply fresh air and EGR gas into a cylinder in good balance according to the required load in a naturally aspirated gasoline engine. When the operation state of the engine falls in a low load range, a control apparatus adjusts the degree of opening of the second throttle while keeping the first throttle fully open and controls EGR gas quantity by adjusting the degree of opening of the EGR valve. When the operation state falls in a middle load range, the apparatus controls EGR gas quantity by adjusting the degree of opening of the first throttle while keeping the EGR valve fully open. When the operation state falls in a high load range, the apparatus adjusts the degree of opening of the first throttle while keeping the second throttle fully open and controls EGR gas quantity by adjusting the degree of opening of the EGR valve.

摘要: This disclosure is intended to suppress a noble metal supported by a three-way catalyst from being deteriorated by oxidation with the execution of fuel cut processing in a suitable manner. A control apparatus for a naturally aspirated gasoline engine is provided with a three-way catalyst, a first throttle valve, a second throttle valve arranged in the intake passage at the downstream side of the first throttle valve, an EGR valve, and a controller. When the controller carries out fuel cut processing and the temperature of the three-way catalyst is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature, the controller introduces the EGR gas into a cylinder of the gasoline engine as intake air by fully closing the first throttle valve and by opening the EGR valve, and further controls an amount of the EGR gas by adjusting the degree of opening of the second throttle valve.

摘要: An exhaust purification system of an internal combustion engine which has a plurality of cylinders is comprised of an exhaust purification catalyst, a downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor, and a control device which controls the average air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas and the combustion air-fuel ratios of the cylinders. The control device performs average air-fuel ratio control where it alternately controls the average air-fuel ratio between the rich air-fuel ratio and the lean air-fuel ratio and inter-cylinder air-fuel ratio control where it controls the combustion air-fuel ratios of the cylinders so that the combustion air-fuel ratio becomes the rich air-fuel ratio at least at one cylinder among the plurality of cylinders. In average air-fuel ratio control, the average air-fuel ratio is controlled so that the lean shift amount becomes smaller than the rich shift amount when the temperature of the exhaust purification catalyst is low and the average air-fuel ratio is controlled so that the lean shift amount becomes larger than the rich shift amount when the temperature is high.

摘要: An internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust purification catalyst. The control system comprises a temperature detecting means for detecting or estimating a temperature of the exhaust purification catalyst, performs feedback control so that an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust purification catalyst becomes a target air-fuel ratio, and performs target air-fuel ratio setting control which alternately sets the target air-fuel ratio to a rich set air-fuel ratio and a lean set air-fuel ratio. In addition, the control system increases a variation difference, obtained by subtracting a rich degree of the rich set air-fuel ratio from a lean degree of a lean set air-fuel ratio, when a temperature of the exhaust purification catalyst detected or estimated by the temperature detecting means is a predetermined upper limit temperature or less compared with when it is higher than the upper limit temperature. As a result, a sulfur ingredient storage amount of an exhaust purification catalyst is maintained low.
