    摘要: The present invention is directed to the use of artificial polymers in the mimetization of enzymatic active sites and the carrying-out of catalysis using these artificial enzymes. Further, as used herein, an artificial enzyme refers more generally to a polymer-based scaffold for presenting specific chemically active atoms optimally for reactions, not just those that mimic natural enzymes. Various polymers can be used for this mimetization, including polyimides, polyurea, polyurethane, polyacrylic acid, and polylactic acid, as well as other polymers having properties and functionality that enable integration with natural and artificial amino acids, other molecules having nucleophilic and electrophilic groups (akin to the amine and carboxyl functionalities, respectively, of amino acids), as well as other molecules contributing unique chemical abilities not usually associated with the orthogonal functions inherent in most amino acids, i.e., amines, carboxyls, formamides, hydroxyls, mercaptyls and saturated hydrocarbons.

The seats, particularly (although not exclusively) useful in commercial aircraft, permit substantial angular recline without the corresponding rearward linear movement necessarily occurring in conventional seats. The seats additionally may have discontinuous, or non-integral, seat bottoms, with the heights of the forward portions of the bottoms being adjustable mechanically. Tray tables optionally associated with the seats further omit any central slot and may define one or more pivot axes in locations different than exist in conventional seats.

Some arrangements position seats at offsets from a longitudinal axis of a vehicle cabin in either “V” shapes or herringbone patterns. Other arrangements include seats that are staggered within the cabin. Further arrangements include pairs of seat that are both parallel and offset from the longitudinal axis, but are placed so that feet of the port and starboard passengers point away from the fuselage. All embodiments contemplate providing seats that are convertible to beds, although this conversion is not required.
