    摘要: The invention relates to nucleation agents for polyethylenes wherein the nucleating agent is composed of one or more finely divided inorganic materials of halloysite that are dispersed throughout the polyethylene to increase the crystallization rate such that the polyethylenes can be more easily extruded, molded with a much shorter cycle time or thermoformed into intricate parts. The most preferred agent is halloysite nanotubular clay.

    摘要: Super-miscible blends of nylon copolymers are provided as well as multilayered film structures made therefrom. A nylon composition is a substantially uniform blend of at least one semi-crystalline copolymer I and at least one semi-crystalline copolymer II, wherein the proportion by weight of each of copolymer I and copolymer II. The nylon compositions are extremely uniform, and have only a single melting point rather than individual melting points of the component nylon copolymer parts. Coextruded films of a layer of this nylon composition with an olefin containing polymer are suitable for use as barrier films, such as aroma barrier films, which have reduced curl.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process of modifying the crystallization temperature (T.sub.cc) of polymers, such as polyesters or polyamides, the polymers produced by this process and the molding compositions containing these polymers. The process comprises cooling a polymer to a temperature sufficient to allow grinding of the polymer to an effective particle and then grinding said polymer to the effective particle size in order that the polymer exhibits an increased T.sub.cc.

    摘要: A process for preparing quasi-random copolymers is described which involves heating a mixture of polyamides in the presence of one or more phosphite promotor(s). The process is conducted at temperatures between about 265.degree. C. and 315.degree. C. with the process time generally ranging from about 2 to about 20 minutes. The process is especially useful for preparing copolymers from a mixture of poly(caproamide) and poly(hexamethylene adipamide). The copolymer products prepared in accordance with the process are particularly suitable for the production of plastic films which have improved properties as compared to either of the homopolymers.
