Moreover, if the tincture variations occurs, all the waiting print jobs need rendering again. When the print job is to be stored, the received PDL is expanded, continuous-tone data is generated, and the continuous-tone data is JPEG-compressed. If a compression rate is high, the print job (print image data) is stored in the JPEG format. Even if the compression rate is low, storage of only the PDL or of PDL and the half-tone print data is selected according to expansion time of the PDL.
