    摘要: An electrode active material comprising a silicon-containing carbon-based composite material obtained by: preparing a cured product of (A) a silicon-free organic compound having a crosslinkable group, and (B) a silicon-containing compound capable of crosslinking the component (A); and baking the cured product in an inert gas or in a vacuum at 300 to 1,500° C.; an electrode comprising the electrode active material; and an electricity storage device comprising the electrode. The electrode active material has high reversible capacity and stable charge and discharge cycle characteristics, has little electrical potential loss when lithium is discharged, and furthermore, can be manufactured via a simple manufacturing process. Therefore, an electrode active material that is particularly suitable for an electrode of a lithium secondary battery can be provided, and an electricity storage device having an electrode comprising the electrode active material can also be provided.

    摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide a magnetic head which prevents data on a recording medium from being erased even when a stray field is applied. In one embodiment, an auxiliary pole is sandwiched between a stray-field shield composed of a magnetic layer recessed from the air bearing surface and a main pole. The stray-field shield may be formed on the leading side of the auxiliary pole. A face of the stray-field shield on a medium side may be recessed from an air-bearing-surface of the magnetic head.

    摘要: A recording/reproducing separated type magnetic head comprising a first magnetic domain control layer for arranging the magnetizing direction of a free layer included in a magneto-resistive element to a predetermined direction, and a second magnetic domain control layer for generating a magnetic field in the direction opposite thereto to constitute a differential type bias structure. The recording/reproducing separated type magnetic head decreases an excessively strengthened longitudinal bias magnetic field in a central portion at a narrow track width while avoiding decrease of the fixed magnetic field at the end of the magneto-resistive element in the direction of the track width.

    摘要: A lower magnetic pole front end portion is provided on a lower magnetic pole main layer, and then, an upper magnetic pole front end portion or an upper magnetic pole front end layer is formed on the flat surface so as to enhance the track width accuracy of thin film head. The height of the lower magnetic pole front end portion is increased so as to enhance the magnetic field intensity. A projection step portion having a width larger than that of the upper magnetic pole front end layer is provided on the lower magnetic pole front end portion. The unnecessary medium in-plane magnetic field can be thus reduced in the off-track position. The respective parts of the head are corrected, thereby realizing a high recording magnetic field intensity exceeding 716 kA/m (9000Oe).
