摘要: A fuel injection device for Diesel engines includes a combustion detector comprising a photoelectric transducer and a light path extended through a nozzle body to transmit the light of a combustion flame developed in an engine cylinder to the photoelectric transducer. One end of the light path is opened to an oil sump communicating with a nozzle opening so that only when the nozzle opening is opened for injecting fuel and then a combustion flame is developed, the light of the flame is passed through the light path and reaches the photoelectric transducer thereby generating an electric signal indicative of the actual time of the combustion. The whole or part of the light path may be comprised of optical fibers.

摘要: An electrical governor for a fuel injection pump with a spill ring comprises an acceleration pedal operating amount (PA) detector, an engine rotational speed (N) detector, a spill ring displacement detector, a maximum limit injection amount pattern memory for storing the relation between the engine rotational speed (N) and the maximum smoke concentration generating injection amount (Qmax), a partial load injection amount pattern memory for storing the relation between the rotational speed (N) and the partial load injection amount (Qpar) corresponding to the acceleration pedal operating amount (PA) with the acceleration pedal operating amount (PA) as a parameter, a minimum limit injection amount pattern memory for storing the relation between the rotational speed (N) and the minimum limit injection amount (Qmin), a target position pattern memory for storing the relation between the target injection amount (Qf) and the spill ring displacement target position (V.sub.SN), microcomputer means for reading out the values Qmin, Qpar and Qmax for the detected values PA and N and calculating the values Qf' and V.sub.SN ' corresponding to the detected values PA and N by interpolation, and actuator drive means for correcting the spill ring displacement in accordance with the calculated target position V.sub.SN ', thereby correcting the change in the fuel injection amount caused by the change in rotational speed. The governor alternatively includes a target position pattern memory for storing the relation between the values PA, N and V.sub.SN for a corresponding value Qf.

摘要: A fuel injection arrangement for a diesel engine. An overflow passage for high pressure fuel is provided in the engine's fuel injection pump. A solenoid valve is disposed in the overflow passage for controlling the fuel injection amount through its on-off operation. The time when the fuel injection pump starts injecting fuel is detected by an injection start detector. To this injection starting time point is added a target injection period to determine an injection end time. At this injection end time the solenoid valve is opened to discontinue the fuel injection. The target injection period is determined according to operating conditions of the engine. Since this apparatus detects the actual injection start point and controls the injection period on the basis of the result of the detection, the fuel injection amount can be controlled extremely accurately.

摘要: In a diesel engine controlling system having a fuel injection pump, a fuel injection timing adjusting device is controlled by a drive pulse signal whose duty cycle is controlled by a microcomputer. The duty cycle is determined such that a basic duty cycle obtained by using engine rotational speed and injection quantity, is modified or corrected by way of a correction factor and a forecast correction factor. The-first mentioned correction factor comprises an integration component and a proportional component both derived from the difference between a measured fuel injection or ignition timing and a desired or reference fuel injection or ignition timing, which is calculated by using the engine rotational speed and the injection quantity. The forecast correction factor corresponds to a differential value of the basic duty cycle or the desired fuel injection or ignition timing. In order to detect the fuel injection or ignition timing a timing detector is employed, where the state of an output signal from the detector is monitored to prohibit calculation of the difference or error, thereby correcting the basic duty cycle by only the forecast correction factor when the detector is in abnormal condition.

摘要: There is provided a vehicle engine-driven alternator wherein an internal combustion engine is coarsely adjusted to a preset speed by an engine governor, the turning driving force of the engine is transmitted to an alternator through a magnetic slip coupling, and the excitation current to the magnetic slip coupling is controlled by an excitation control circuit which compares the number of revolutions of the alternator with a preset value to generate an output depending on the result of the comparison, thereby providing a source of alternating current having an extremely accurate preset frequency.

摘要: An optimum control method for internal combustion engines uses the values of an engine control variable, such as engine timing, which are arranged in a map and stored in a memory. During normal operation, the engine is operated in accordance with one of the mapped engine control variable values related to engine operating conditions. During a fuel consumption minimization operation, the mapped engine control variable value is changed by an incremented amount to operate the engine therewith, and the mapped engine control variable value is replaced by the changed engine control variable value, if it is detected that the change by the incremented amount is in a direction to reduce the fuel consumption rate of the engine. This optimum engine control method can compensate for changes in the characteristics of engines caused during the manufacture or caused by changes over time during their operation, thereby ensuring the operation of an engine at a minimum rate of fuel consumption.

摘要: An electric governor for an internal combustion engine comprises an engine speed sensor, a phase shifter, a twin-T type filter and a multiplier for multiplying outputs of the phase shifter and the twin-T type filter. The twin-T type filter is arranged to vary its gain and phase in response to the difference between the peculiar frequency thereof and the frequency of the speed signal, whereby the multiplied outputs varies its amplitude and polarity in response to the frequency difference. A servo motor which is adapted to control the engine speed control mechanism is connected to the multiplier, so that the engine can be controlled to run at a predetermined speed which corresponds to the peculiar frequency of the twin-T type filter.

摘要: A fuel injection timing control system is provided wherein a fluid actuator having a fluid chamber containing therein a movable wall member and the amount of pressure medium in the fluid chamber are controlled by electromagnetically operated control valve means to cause the actuator to operate an element for controlling the fuel injection timing of a fuel injection pump. In the control system of this invention, a control voltage is produced from at least a speed signal corresponding to the rotational speed of an engine and a fuel injection quantity signal corresponding to the amount of fuel injected into the engine from a fuel injection pump, and this control voltage is compared with a injection timing voltage corresponding to the fuel injection timing of the fuel injection pump to produce a deviation signal which is used to actuate the electromagnetically operated control valve means so as to automatically control the fuel injection timing of the injection pump and thereby to obtain the optimum injection timing that suits the varying operating conditions of the engine.
