    摘要: A fluid detection system includes a central monitor, an overfill probe for detecting the approach of the overfill condition of a tank of liquid, and n other probes, where n is an integer greater than or equal to 1. The probes are connected to the monitor via electronic cables. The monitor communicates with the probes by producing probe identifier signals comprising integers starting with zero up to the number n. Each probe includes a signal receiving and sending means which compares the identifier signal sent by the monitor to a preset identifier number for that probe and sends a status signal indicative of the fluid status at that probe when it receives the identifier signal that is the same as the preset number. The overfill probe is set with the identifier zero. The monitor includes a timing circuit which determines a six second probe check cycle. The monitor checks one probe every probe check cycle according to the following sequence: probe zero, probe number one, probe zero, probe number two, probe zero, probe number three, etc. until all n probes are checked. The monitor also includes an interrupt mode which may interrupt the probe check function. Whenever the monitor returns from interrupt, it first checks the zeroth probe then continues in the probe check cycle from which it was interrupted.

    摘要: A housing includes a switch chamber and a plunger chamber communicating with the switch chamber. A plunger is slidable within the plunger chamber. Cam surfaces on the plunger operate electrical switches in the switch chamber. There is an axial channel in the plunger, and a slot through the plunger wall communicates with the channel. A vacuum passageway passes from one side of the housing, into the channel, and a solid extension of the passageway passes through the slot, and into a hole in the opposite wall of the housing. As the plunger moves in and out, the slot slides on the extension to guide to stabilize the plunger. A vent hole in the vacuum passageway opens into the channel. A sealing member slides in the channel along the axis of the plunger, alternately sealing and unsealing the vent hole as the plunger moves. A spring seated between the plunger and the sealing member permits the plunger to continue moving when the sealing member is seated in the passageway vent hole. A maze causes air passing through the switch chamber to the vent hole to turn and slow, thereby causing dust particles to settle out of it.

    摘要: A first sensor at a first location along a conveyor provides a first signal indicating whether or not a container is present at the first location while a second sensor similarly provides a second signal indicating whether or not a container is present at a second nearby location. The first and second signals are input to a logic circuit which outputs a count pulse only if the the inputs are of a proper form in a proper sequence designed so that dither is ignored. The sensors are diffuse reflection type sensors operating at different frequencies. They are mounted so their sensing axes converge at about a 15 degree angle and the sensor lenses are about 3.5 inches from the point of conveyance. A mounting system allows the sensors to be moved up/down and in/out with respect to the conveyor and maintain a position perpendicular with both the container sidewall and the container flow direction.

    摘要: There is described a speed sensor that is particularly adaptable to moving vehicles such as automobiles. A permanent magnet, stator assembly, and field coil are held within a ferromagnetic cup that is adapted to mate a bearing assembly of a non-driven wheel of the vehicle. A rotor assembly is carried by the wheel spindle. The rotor assembly has poles spaced entirely around the circumference of a circle while the stator assembly has only a few poles distributed over an arc of a portion of a circle. A magnetic flux is provided by the permanent magnet, which flux passes through the stator poles and the rotor poles. The ferromagnetic cup completes a flux path between the stator and rotor poles, and also to the magnet. The rotor poles rotate with the wheel, causing a changing magnetic flux which in turn generates an alternating voltage current in the field coil. The alternating current so generated is then fed through an electrical terminal to a vehicle computer.
