摘要： A method of making a multi-circuit electrical interconnector comprises the molding of an elastomeric, non-conductive frame member having a number of openings extending therethrough corresponding to the number of circuits that are to be interconnected. Each of the openings is overfilled with a module of uncured, heat curable elastomeric resin containing a plurality of electrically conductive particles. All of the modules are subjected to compression and the modules are cured while maintaining them under compression. All of the cured modules are exercised and stabilized physically and electrically by subjecting them to successive applications of compressive force.

摘要： A touch plate assembly for a digital control device. The touch plate is sectioned off into a plurality of touch switch areas, each of which represents certain information to be entered into the control circuit. The touch plate and a printed circuit board, carrying the detection circuitry are held in place by a housing which may carry other circuitry as well. Electrical connections between the detection circuitry and the touch switches are made by resilient spring contact members rigidly mounted on the circuit board and soldered in place as a component. A combination shield-filter assembly is bonded to the back of the touch plate. The shield-filter assembly includes a metal-polyester laminate having windows therein, through which the spring contact members make electrical contact to contact areas on the touch plate. In addition, certain portions of the metal layer are removed so that light from a light source located on the printed circuit board may be seen by the user of the control.

摘要： An individual metallic, electrical conductor is terminated by heating one end thereof to form an enlarged molten mass, followed by cooling and subsequent shaping of the mass to form a terminal. Multiple conductors are spliced by heating adjacent ends thereof to form an enlarged, common molten mass at the end of each conductor. Alternatively, adjacent ends of multiple metallic conductors may be spliced by heating the ends thereof to form a molten mass at the end of each conductor followed by plunging the molten masses into one another.

摘要： A control system for a microwave oven includes a programmable digital logic control circuit which enables a user to program information into the digital logic control circuit. The digital logic control circuit of the present invention allows a user to program information into the control, relating to the amount of time the magnetron tube is to be energized. The control also allows the user to select the power level or duty factor at which the magnetron is energized from three different levels, thus providing a choice to the user as to whether the magnetron is to be operated in a defrost mode, a slow cook mode or a cook mode. The control of the present invention allows the oven to be operated in a single stage manner whereby the microwave oven is operated in the defrost, slow cook or cook modes for the amount of time programmed into the control by the user. Alternatively, the oven may be programmed in a two stage manner whereby the user determines the duration of the defrost portion and the duration of the cook portion in a combination defrost-hold-cook mode. The user may also program the oven so that it operates in a combination defrost-hold-slow cook mode. A time of day clock and a timer is also provided by the control of the present invention. The user programs information into the control by means of a touch plate which is sectioned off into a plurality of areas, each area representing certain information to be entered into the control. Information in the control such as the time of day, the time remaining in any of the microwave modes, the time remaining in the timer mode, or the information which has been entered by the user is displayed to provide a visual feedback to the user.

摘要： An improved ternary brass alloy includes silicon as the additive material. The composition limits of the constituents of the brass are fixed by two factors: (1) the M.sub.s or Martensite transformation temperature, and (2) the brass must be a totally beta phase above 454.degree. C. The composition may be betatized, that is, heated at approximately 800.degree. C. and quenched at a fast rate so that the beta phase is retained in order to provide material having a shape memory effect, a low spring back coefficient and super elastic properties. A continuous betatizing and quenching process may be utilized in the manufacture of strip and sheet products. Alternatively, the composition may be hot worked between 600.degree. and 700.degree. C. and then cold worked to provide a material having a low spring back coefficient.

摘要： An electrical connector for electrically connecting a plurality of insulated wires together. The connector includes two unitary ferrule forming portions, one mounted inside the other with their sidewalls substantially parallel to and spaced from one another, and connected to one another at one side. Insulation piercing serrations run transversely across the inside of the larger ferrule forming portion and the outside of the smaller ferrule forming portion such that the insulation on a plurality of wires mounted there-between may be pierced when the connector is crimped. In addition, the inside of the smaller ferrule forming portion has a plurality of slots running transversely thereacross which act to pierce the insulation of any wires crimped inside.
