摘要: A frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system that includes a transceiver coupled to an analog to digital converter (ADC), and a digital signal processor (DSP) coupled to the ADC. The transceiver is configured to transmit a plurality of FMCW chirps, receive a plurality of reflected FMCW chirps, and mix the reflected FMCW chirps with at least one of the FMCW chirps to generate a plurality of beat signals. The reflected FMCW chirps are the FMCW chirps after being reflected off of a target object. The ADC is configured to convert the beat signals into a plurality of digital chirps. The DSP is configured to receive the digital chirps and quantify a relative velocity of the target object as compared to a velocity of the FMCW radar system by removing an effect of a range to the target object from a two dimensional range Doppler processing signal.

摘要: The present invention provides a microstructure device comprising multiple substrates with the components of the device formed on the substrates. In order to maintain uniformity of the gap between the substrates, a plurality of pillars is provided and distributed in the gap so as to prevent decrease of the gap size. The increase of the gap size can be prevented by bonding the pillars to the components of the microstructure. Alternatively, the increase of the gap size can be prevented by maintaining the pressure inside the gap below the pressure under which the microstructure will be in operation. Electrical contact of the substrates on which the micromirrors and electrodes are formed can be made through many ways, such as electrical contact areas, electrical contact pads and electrical contact springs.

摘要: A memory cell system is disclosed with properties of asymmetrical operation such that the occurrence of memory error due to certain environmental disturbances is detectable. The asymmetry of operation can be adjusted to set the level at which the disturbance is detected. Detection of memory error in the system can be used to shut off access to an associated memory array in order to prevent error in the array.

摘要: In a typical DC-DC converter, an error amplifier is used to sense and amplify the difference between the feedback voltage and the reference voltage. In the event of current overloading (limit condition), example embodiments of the disclosed systems and methods of over-load protection with voltage fold-back fold back the reference voltage proportional to the current limit. The regulator may continue to regulate in this fold-back voltage reference condition without shutting down the converter, saturating the inductor, or causing a catastrophic failure at the power FETs. The disclosed systems and methods of over-load protection with voltage fold-back resolve consecutive switching cycle current build up in high input voltage DC/DC convertor applications due to the latency of current limit circuitry.

摘要: A method and apparatus for sample adaptive offset without sign coding. The method includes selecting an edge offset type for at least a portion of an image, classifying at least one pixel of at least the portion of the image into edge shape category, calculating an offset of the pixel, determining the offset is larger or smaller than a predetermined threshold, changing a sign of the offset based on the threshold determination; and performing entropy coding accounting for the sign of the offset and the value of the offset.

摘要: A battery management system for charging a battery by a charger includes a transistor and either a charge pump or a push-pull output driver. The transistor increases and decreases an electrical connection between the battery and a voltage from the charger and transmits a charge current from the charger to the battery by turning on and off in response to a pulse width modulated drive signal generated by the charge pump or the push-pull output driver. The charge pump or the push-pull output driver increases the drive signal when the voltage from the charger is above a pre-charge threshold voltage and decreases the drive signal when the voltage from the charger is below the pre-charge threshold voltage.

摘要: An LDO regulator (10) produces an output voltage (Vout) by applying the output voltage to a feedback input (6) of a differential input stage (10A) and applying an output (3) of the differential input stage to a gate of a first follower transistor (MP4) having a source coupled to an input (8) of a class AB output stage (10C) which generates the output voltage. Demanded load current is supplied by the output voltage during a dip in its value to a gate of a second follower transistor (MP5) having a gate coupled to the output of the input stage to decrease current in a current mirror (MN5,6) having an output coupled to a current source (I1) and a gate of an amplifying transistor (MN7). This causes the current source to rapidly turn on the amplifying transistor to cause it to rapidly turn on a cascode transistor (MN3), causing it to turn on a pass transistor (MP3) of the output stage.

摘要: A new analog-to-digital (ADC) circuit and architecture and the corresponding method of implementation are provided. The analog input signal is converted into a modulated pulse stream such as by a pulse-width-modulation scheme. The time-duration width of the pulses are measured by a TDC (time-to-digital converter) and converted to a digital binary representation that is directly correlated with the voltage amplitude of the analog input signal. The circuit implementation is substantially free of switches and circuit issues such as associated with sigma-delta and switched-capacitor techniques for ADC's.
