摘要: A bearing housing assembly comprising a generally U-shaped casing (12); a cap (13) which fits into and cooperates with the casing to define a bearing housing; and bolts (15) to hold the casing and the cap together. The cap (13) is a clearance fit in the casing (12); and a location and load transferring member (18) extends through a bore (22) whose cross-section extends partly into the casing and partly into the cap and which straddles the clearance (c), the location and load transferring member (18) being stressed to locate the cap within the casing.

摘要: A disposable electrode for use in electromyography and/or nerve conduction velocity testing has a tab for connection to a cable connector and is laminated of a plurality of layers including first and second outer layers. The first layer is a backing member with exposed adhesive, a hydrogel layer intermediate the outer layers and a conductive foil layer between the hydrogel layer and the second outer layer. The electrode may be a disc electrode, a ground electrode or an elongated flexible digital ring electrode. The disc electrode includes two identical disc electrode elements having circular portions separably joined to each other at a central portion and the tab of each element is remote from the central portion. A kit contains a plurality of disposable electrodes packaged in a blister pack, the packaged electrodes including a plurality of such disc electrodes, a plurality of such ground electrodes and a plurality of such elongated flexible digital ring electrodes.

摘要: A method and apparatus for measuring the width of a small object between a pair of opposed edges thereof e.g. the width of a line on a semiconductor wafer, having a light microscope, a video system for receiving an optical image from the microscope and for displaying the image on a display surface having a reference datum, and an optical system for transmitting the optical image from the light microscope to the video system. In order to measure the width of the line of the wafer, relative adjustment is carried out between the optical system and the object to a first measuring position in which the image is moved across the display surface until a predetermined intensity level of one of the edges of the line is brought to a predetermined position relative to the reference datum. Further relative adjustment is then carried out to a second measuring position in which a further predetermined intensity level of the other edge of the object is brought to a predetermined position relative to the reference datum. The extent of adjustment movement is then measured, so as to provide a value which corresponds with the width of the object to be measured between the opposed edges thereof. The reference datum will be positioned on a detecting surface at a position where substantially distortion-free images can be produced i.e. remote from the edges of the screen, and then the images are moved relative to this datum, so an accurate inspection can be carried out.

摘要: Radiation sensitive compositions are image-wise exposed and developed to form an image which is then heated to improve its strength as a lithographic printing image or etch resist. The heating is carried out in the presence of a heat sensitive dye which undergoes a color change at a temperature of at least 180.degree. C. so as to obtain an indication of whether or not the heating has been adequate. The dye may be an integral component of the composition or it may be applied to the image, after development, in combination with a substance capable of forming a shield against contaminating residues produced during the heating step.

摘要: A releasable anchor connector for a tension leg platform in which a tether with a bore is locked in a template insert at the seabed by means of a series of locking fingers acting through a ring and a resilient connector. The tether is unlocked by locating a ram that disengages the fingers at the end of the bore and applying hydraulic pressure to the ram by means of a hose passed down the bore and a delivery head at the end of the hose. The delivery head comprises a hollow body, a piston slidable in the body and a valve member slidably mounted on the piston. A spring urges the valve member to engage a valve seat and a spring urges the piston forwards. Hydraulic pressure of the fluid in the hose forces the piston back so that a split collet moves back with the piston and expands to hold the delivery head in the position behind a shoulder formed in a bore leading to the ram, after which the piston lifts the valve member off its seat, so transmitting the hydraulic pressure to the ram. The springs close the valve as the hydraulic pressure is released.
