摘要: The present invention relates to a protein preparation produced from almond seeds and a cost-effective method for the preparation thereof. The protein preparation has a protein content of more than 50% by mass, an oil content of less than 6% by mass, a sucrose content of less than 8% by mass and a brightness L* of greater than 70. The taste of the protein preparation is neutral, it has a light colour and is of high quality, so that it is suitable for food applications, such as emulsions and baked good, that are demanding in terms of colour and taste.

摘要: This invention relates to a process for preparing a vegetable protein concentrate from oleaginous vegetable material that comprises the steps of: a) pre-treating the oleaginous vegetable material to open the cells; b) extracting the pre-treated vegetable material in a first extractor with an apolar solvent, to produce a solvent-wet, defatted vegetable material; c) contacting the defatted vegetable material with aqueous ethanol with an ethanol concentration of at least 80% by weight to produce a ethanol-wet, defatted vegetable material; d) wetting the ethanol-wet, defatted vegetable material with aqueous ethanol; e) extracting the vegetable material in an ultimate extractor to produce a solvent-wet proteinaceous material; f) desolventising said solvent-wet proteinaceous material to produce a vegetable protein concentrate.

The corn-solvent mixture is separated into streams, one of which preferably includes an extract containing at least zein and solvent, and another that contains de-zeined corn solids and adsorbed solvent. The solvent is separated from the zein, and the de-zeined, desolventized corn solids are processed to provide one or more corn products.

摘要: A process for the producing edible protein-containing meal for human and animal consumption and high quality food grade oils from oil seed using iodotrifluoromathane as the solvent is shown. The meal has a significantly improved level of dietary available (absorbable) protein. The process involves the preparation of protein isolates by a procedure which is conducted at room temperature, thus decreases protein degradation and denaturing which is caused by elevated temperatures. The process also provides for extraction of substantially all oils and fats, which interfere with the formation of the protein micelle, from the protein meal providing a cleaner, purer product with high levels of absorbable protein. Such protein isolates can then be used as such or added to formulated foods in order to increase the total protein content of that food. The protein produced and the oils recovered have compositions which are also unique and unobtainable by prior processing methods.

摘要: Methods of manufacturing and processing corn oil and corn meal obtained from whole corn are included in useful products. The corn oil is extracted from the whole corn to form the corn meal. The corn oil generally comprises levels of nutrients not found in commercially available corn oils, since most or all of the corn grain, rather than just the germ, is exposed to the extraction process. The corn grain generally includes the steps of flaking corn grain having a total oil content of from about 3% to about 6% and extracting a corn oil from the flaked corn grain.
