摘要: An improved interbody fusion device incorporating anti-rotation features to inhibit accidental screwing or unscrewing of the fusion device in an intervertebral disc space. One such feature is a thread pattern having a crest diameter that increasingly tapers from a smaller diameter at the insertion end to a larger diameter at the opposite end making further advancement of the thread into the bone more difficult. Another feature is a thread cut out on the trailing edge of the thread, creating a barb which has a tendency to inhibit unscrewing. These features may be used alone or in combination for an improved interbody fusion device.

摘要: A shoulder assembly is provided which includes a base member including a collar; a helical structure extending from the collar in a distal direction; and a first pathway projecting distally of the collar and through the helical structure adjacent to an inner periphery thereof, the first pathway being generally transverse to the helical structure and extending in a space between successive portions of the helical structure; and a locking device comprising a proximal support and a first arm projecting distally of the proximal support, the first arm configured to be disposed in the first pathway projecting distally of the collar when the proximal support is disposed adjacent to the collar; where the first arm is disposed through bone in the space between successive portions of the helical structure when the shoulder assembly is implanted.

摘要: An implant assembly may include a first component having a proximal plate and a distal portion extending from the proximal plate, a first screw of a first type, and a first screw of a second type. The proximal plate may have a proximal face, a distal face configured to abut bone, and a periphery. The proximal plate may define a plurality of apertures. An opening may be defined by the proximal plate and extend through the distal portion. Each of the plurality of apertures may be disposed between the opening and the periphery. The first screw of the first type may be sized and configured to be received in the opening and engage bone. The first screw of the second type may be sized and configured to be received in at least one of the plurality of apertures.

摘要: A humerus implant for a reverse shoulder prosthesis has a cup shaped body and a thread at the outside of the body. The thread has a plurality of fins with cut-outs between the fins. At least one fin has an inclined leading surface which helps in incising into the bone by rotating the body in an inward direction. Furthermore, at least one fin has a forward oriented undercut trailing surface blocking rotation in the outward direction.

摘要: A dowel insertion tool includes a T-shaped handle and a hollow sleeve which extends distally from the T-shaped handle. A shaft extends from the handle through the hollow sleeve and includes a transverse extension. A rotatable knob having an annular channel positioned to receive the transverse extension is supported adjacent the handle. A pin is secured to the knob and extends into a helical camming channel formed in the sleeve. Upon rotation of the knob, the pin moves within the camming channel to move the knob longitudinally about the sleeve. Movement of the knob effects longitudinal movement of the shaft. A support plate is secured to the distal end of the shaft. A pair of prongs are slidably secured to the plate. Each of the prongs includes an enlarged head portion which is slidably positioned within a slot formed in the plate. A guide member is secured to the distal end of the sleeve. The guide member includes a pair of guide bores dimensioned to receive a distal end of the prongs. The guide bores direct the prongs outwardly from the distal end of the hollow sleeve at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The prongs are dimensioned to be received in bores formed in the trailing end of a cervical dowel. Because the prongs engage the dowel at an angle, the dowel is both rotatably and longitudinally fixed to the insertion tool.

摘要: The present invention relates to an articular joint replacement system. The system has first and second components. Each component has a tapered head piece for covering the end of a bone and for acting as an articular surface, an integrally formed screw stem having a length sufficient to extend into the medullary canal, and inwardly angled bone grips affixed to the underside of the head piece to allow solid fixation to the bone by compression press fit. The head piece of the first component is provided with a shaped exterior surface which complements the shaped exterior surface of the head piece of the second component and which allows motion in three planes.

摘要: An implant structure is provided. The implant structure includes an implant body and a screw portion. The screw portion is coupled to a second surface of the implant body such that the implant structure can be implanted into an injured bone via the screw portion. Thus, the implant body partially replaces and thereby repairs the injured bone. Threads of the screw portion have at least a barb unit for preventing the implant structure from rotating in the loosening direction of the screw portion. The at least a barb unit also prevents the implant structure from loosening and displacement so that the service life of the implant structure can be extended.
