Abstract: Mass spectrometry (MS) active, fluorescent rapid tagging reagent is provided having three substituent groups: (a) a tertiary amino group or other MS active atom; (b) a highly fluorescent moiety; and (c) a reactive group that can react with an amine. The reactive group provides rapid tagging of desired bio-molecules. The fluorescent moiety provides the fluorescent signal. The tertiary amino group provides the MS signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to nonporous polymer particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 micrometers and being functionalized with streptavidin. The streptavidin functionalized particles of the present disclosure can be bound to biotinylated antibodies, biotinylated antigen-binding fragments thereof, or biotinylated oligonucleotides to create customizable affinity chromatography columns. That is, the functionalized nonporous polymer particles can be packed in a stainless steel, titanium, or other metal or metal alloy column for affinity high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC).

Abstract: The present technology is directed to methods of improved nucleic acid-based ion-exchange chromatography. In particular, the methods utilize a modification of a sample, and in some examples a modification of mobile phase carrying the sample to the ion-exchange column. In a method of the technology, a bracketed sample is loaded into an injector needle apparatus and injected into an ion-exchange column. The bracketed sample is loaded by (a) adding a first-plug solvent comprising a first salt and having a basic pH; (b) adding a sample plug; and (c) adding a second-plug solvent comprising a second salt and having a basic pH. In certain examples, the bracketed sample is delivered to the column using a mobile phase gradient consisting of first solvent and second solvent and wherein 0% of the second solvent is excluded from the gradient.
