摘要： A release agent is disclosed for use with an organic binder system used in metal casting. The binder system has a Part I component including an epoxy resin and a free radical initiator and a Part II component having an epoxy resin and an acrylate, where the Part I and Part II components are kept separate until the time of use. The release agent will typically have a molecular weight in the range of 150 to 160, with eight to ten carbon atoms. Two examples of the epoxide are pinene oxide and decene-1 oxide, each of which is effective as an internal release agent when present in the binder for a cold box process in the range of about 0.15% to about 1% of the total weight of the Part I and Part II components.

摘要： The invention provides highly functional epoxy resins that may be used themselves in coating formulations and applications but which may be further functionalized via ring-opening reactions of the epoxy groups yielding derivative resins with other useful functionalities. The highly functional epoxy resins are synthesized from the epoxidation of vegetable or seed oil esters of polyols having 4 or more hydroxyl groups/molecule. In one embodiment, the polyol is sucrose and the vegetable or seed oil is selected from corn oil, castor oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, linseed oil, tall oil fatty acid, tung oil, vernonia oil, and mixtures thereof. Methods of making of the epoxy resin and each of its derivative resins are disclosed as are coating compositions and coated objects using each of the resins.

摘要： Described are one-component, curable coating compositions that include (a) a polymer having a plurality of alkoxysilane groups; (b) a polyepoxide having a plurality of epoxide groups connected to a compound, oligomer, or polymer through ester linkages, ether linkages, or a combination of ester linkages and ether linkages; (c) a chelated metal alkoxide, in which the metal is aluminum, titanium, or zirconium, or a mixture of such chelated metal alkoxides; and (d) a monofunctional di- or trialkoxysilane compound, which may be volatile, with the proviso that the coating compositions are free of, or essentially free of, polymers with hydroxyl groups, primary amine groups, and secondary amine groups (i.e., amine groups with at least one active hydrogen, >N—H). These one-component, curable coating compositions do not require any additional ingredients to be mixed in before application, are storage stable with do not build viscosity during use (in other words, in use the pot-life is not shortened by crosslinking of internal components) so that excess material can be reused, yet the coating composition provides ambient cure when applied in a coating layer and exposed to moisture (i.e., atmospheric water vapor).

The frame sealant includes an epoxy-acrylic resin, an acrylic resin, a thermal curing agent, a coupling agent, a photoinitiator, and an organic filler, and further an one-dimensional nano-material as an inorganic filler which is capable of cross-linking with the epoxy-acrylic resin. The one-dimensional nano-material after cross-linking with the epoxy-acrylic resin will form an interlaced network, which can prevent granular materials from precipitating and improve the display quality.
