    摘要: The invention relates to a blade preform (46) including a strut connecting a plat-form (16) to a blade root portion (14) extending longitudinally in an upstream-downstream direction, an upstream web (26) and a downstream (28) web, which each extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the blade root and are formed at the upstream and downstream ends of the strut. The upstream (26) and downstream (28) webs connect the upstream and downstream ends of the plat-form (16) to the upstream and downstream ends of the blade root (14). According to the invention, the blade root (14) extends in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the blade root over a distance smaller than that of the upstream and downstream webs (26, 28) and the side edges (40) of each web (26, 28) are extended by walls that converge (44) at the flanks of the blade root.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a shrouded turbine blade is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method comprises casting a shrouded turbine blade including a shrouding. The shrouding includes an abutment face. The method includes welding a coating composed of a different material than the shrouded turbine blade onto the abutment face. The method includes applying hot isostatic pressing to the abutment face after welding the coating. The hot isostatic pressing is sufficient to heal internal defects in the abutment face. The method includes machining the shrouded turbine blade after applying hot isostatic pressing.

In one or more implementations, these techniques may also include adjustment of injection pressure, configuration of runners, and/or use of vacuum pressure, and so on to encourage flow of the metal alloy through a mold. Techniques are also described that utilize protrusions to counteract thermal expansion and subsequent contraction of the metal alloy upon cooling. Further, techniques are described in which a radius of edges of a feature is configured to encourage flow and reduce voids. A variety of other techniques are also described herein.
