摘要: Disclosed is a method for forming a gasket seal or transition fitting affixed to one of two parts to be joined in a gasketed joint by use of the gasket. The method includes the step of providing a mold having a walled mold cavity of the shape desired for the gasket, at least one wall of the mold cavity being a junction surface of the one part and the remaining walls of the mold cavity being formed in a mold piece. The mold is closed by placing the mold piece over the junction surface of the one part to establish the mold cavity as a closed generally toroidal volume. Then a molten gasket-forming thermoplastic material is injected into the mold cavity to form the gasket, the thermoplastic material including a bonding agent for establishing an adhesive bond between the junction surface and the gasket. The thermoplastic material is cooled to solidify the gasket and affix it to the junction surface and the mold piece is removed away from the junction surface.

摘要: A method and sealing gasket are shown for providing a sealing joint between a spigot section and a socket section of low pressure plastic pipe, such as drain waste vent pipe that require a minimum of tools and operational steps to complete. The sealing gasket is installed in one of the sections to be joined and the spigot section is inserted within a mouth opening of the socket section with the sections being pressed together in a single operation, thereby forming both the joint and the seal. The sealing gasket is a composite gasket made with one section of a hard plastic material and one section of a thermoplastic elastomer material. No glue or adhesive is required.

摘要: The invention relates to molding of a roller in which a roller body is provided integrally on the outer periphery of an axial core member, and the objective of the invention is to prevent the generation of a thin burr, and damage to the die. In order to achieve this objective, a die is provided with a first split die and a second split die which can butt against one another or separate from one another at mutually-opposing parting surfaces. A roller body molding surface, a cavity being defined between the axial core member and the roller body molding surface when the mold is clamped; and recessed portions which are located at both end portions of the supporting portions and extend along the parting surfaces, and which are not in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the axial core member when the mold is clamped.

摘要: A method of sealing coil leads during encapsulation by placing a lead of a coil in a tube, such that there remains a gap between the lead and the tube; placing the coil in a mold such that the gap remains open to an environment surrounding the mold; and injecting encapsulation material into the closed mold in a liquid state under pressure, thereby causing the material to flow through the gap toward the environment. Injecting encapsulation material into the mold may be done at a rate, temperature, and/or environmental temperature to cause the material to solidify before passing through the gap into the environment. In any case, there is no need to seal the mold to the leads. Each lead of the coil may be placed into an individual tube and/or the tubes may be is formed within a single sleeve.

摘要: There are provided an automotive interior component, in which a decreased weight and a reduced cost are achieved and safety measures at the time of side collision is taken, and a method for manufacturing the automotive interior component. A door trim main body of a door trim is made up of a foamed resin base material having a light weight and shape holding properties and a resin mold portion integrated with a part of the inside surface side of the foamed resin base material. A resin flash is leaked intentionally and forcedly around a part of the resin mold portion to form a reinforcing flash portion. Thereby, the resin mold portion is supported firmly, and a sharp edge of the resin mold portion is avoided by the reinforcing flash portion at the time of side collision. Also, the molding accuracy is increased by producing the reinforcing flash portion intentionally and forcedly.

摘要: Solid rollers of a urethane material are formed in closed mold formed by a tube and two end plugs spaced by a shaft, the latter becoming the shaft for the roller. The closed mold avoids rough grinding to a cylindrical shape, as well as avoiding the resulting waste of material and introduction of defects that arise from rough grinding. The formation of bubbles during injection of the urethane material is avoided by filling the closed mold with carbon dioxide gas prior to injection. The formation of gate marks in the urethane material is avoided by repositioning the end caps after injection to separate the injection gate from the cylindrical cavity. The need to trim the ends of the roller is avoided by providing an annular cavity between the top end cap and the tube that receives excess urethane material to be drawn into the cylindrical cavity as the urethane shrinks during curing.
