摘要： Disclosed herein is a transverse tensioning system that comprises a left-side clamping assembly comprising a first left-side clamp element and a second left-side clamp element. The first left-side clamp element and the second left-side clamp element clamp down on the left edge portion of the stack of plies when the stack of plies moves in a feed direction and is shaped between opposing dies. The system also comprises a right-side clamping assembly, spaced apart from the left-side clamping assembly and comprising a first right-side clamp element and a second right-side clamp element. The first right-side clamp element and the second right-side clamp element clamp down on the right edge portion of the stack of plies when the stack of plies moves in the feed direction and is shaped between the opposing dies.

摘要： During building of a tyre, at least one component of elastomeric material is manufactured through application of an elongated element in the form of coils disposed side by side and/or superposed onto a forming support driven in rotation and transversely moved in front of an applicator device. The elongated element is formed by feeding a continuous thread element coming from an extruder between two shaping rollers. During formation, a detector operating close to the shaping rollers cyclically detects the width of the elongated element and the cross-section area of the continuous thread element to monitor the volumetric flow rate of the continuous thread element close to the shaping rollers. The feeding speed of the continuous thread element toward the shaping rollers is adjusted through feedback on the extruder or on a driving device operating downstream of the extruder itself, to keep the volumetric flow rate value within a predetermined range.

摘要： The insulating coating for an object such as a rocket motor casing is formed by wrapping a strip of insulating material upon the surface of a rotating mandrel. By means of this invention, it is possible to wrap a strip of malleable material such as rubber from an extruder onto a complex shape while exercising precise thickness control, thereby eliminating the need for machining the outer surface. The strip is run through a forming mill of unique construction which shapes the strip during the wrapping process to conform most precisely with the topography of the mandrel. The mill automatically varies both the taper and the width of the strip. The final wrapped product has a smooth outer surface that requires minimal finishing.

摘要： A composite-material structure of T-shaped cross section has a horizontal plate and an integral vertical web. The vertical web is formed between opposite forming faces of die members, and the horizontal plate is formed between the die members and a horizontal pressing plate positioned above or below the die members. In order to urge the die members against each other for forming, wedges are provided. The die members, pressing plate and wedges are placed between a lower stationary part and an upper movable part of a pressing machine. When the movable part descends towards the stationary part, the wedges exert forces to the die members to urge the members toward each other due to a wedge action, and the pressing plate is vertically urged against the die members.
