Abstract:
In the method for production of scored punched parts from a material sheet by a punching and scoring tool the formation of scores in the material sheet is started before the punching process is initiated. The punching and scoring tool has a carrier board, on the underside of which punching elements and scoring elements are provided, and a punching/scoring plate under the carrier board, in which scoring grooves are formed under the scoring elements. The scoring elements in an initial position, in which the scoring elements and punching elements are arranged at a distance from the punching/scoring plate, project further from the carrier board towards the punching/scoring plate than the punching elements. The scoring elements are also mounted flexibly on the carrier board in the lifting direction.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the manufacture of sheets of corrugated board of variable size comprises a cross cutter for severing the entire web of corrugated board disposed, in the conveying direction of a web of corrugated board, downstream of at least one longitudinal cutting arrangement, of cutting devices for cutting lateral margins and of discharge devices for the margins cut off, and upstream of at least one cross cutting arrangement for cutting sheets of corrugated board.
Abstract:
According to the invention, there is provided a bag making machine including feeding means for feeding two or more superposed layers of plastic film longitudinally thereof and intermittently for a length, the layers of plastic film having void area means such as notch hole means, and a cutter for cutting the layers of plastic film crossly thereof along a line predetermined with respect to the void area means whenever feeding the layers of plastic film are temporarily stopped, to thereby successively make plastic bags. A detector is disposed near the cutter for recognizing the contour of the void area means as an image data immediately before or when the layers of plastic film are temporarily stopped. A computer is connected to the detector for calculating the difference between the position of the predetermined line of the layers and the position of the cutting edge means of the cutter in accordance with the image data of the detector. Drive means is connected to the computer for moving the cutter parallel to the layers feeding direction in response to the output signal from the computer to thereby compensate and eliminate the difference between the position of the predetermined line of the layers and the position of the cutting edge means of the cutter.
Abstract:
A method for forming carton blanks from a continuous laminate having at least a layer of a relatively rigid material and a layer of a relatively flexible fluid impervious material by dividing the continuous laminate into individual carton blanks and at the same time making modified cut lines and fold lines in the individual carton blanks to form top and bottom panel portions, sidewall panel portions and a glue tab panel portion, wherein the modified cut lines extend through the relatively rigid material but not through the relatively flexible fluid impervious material and then removing only the relatively rigid material at various locations to leave the desired carton blank. In some instances, the laminate will contain continuous strips of a relatively flexible material between the relatively rigid material and the relatively flexible fluid impervious material and secured only to the relatively flexible fluid impervious material.
Abstract:
A method for making plastic case blanks is disclosed. A molten plastic material is passed through a nip of a first, preforming pair of molding cylinders to form a semi-solidified sheet having a first thickness, The semi-solidified sheet is then molded to form a final sheet having a second, uniform thickness less than the first thickness and the final sheet is scored to form folding scores and cut to form a plurality of the blanks. The molding, scoring and cutting are simultaneously performed by passing the semi-solidified sheet through a nip of a second pair of cylinders. One of the second pair of cylinders has scoring means for forming the folding scores in the final sheet and cutting means for cutting the final sheet to form the plurality of the blanks and the other of the second pair of cylinders has recess means complementary to the cutting means for receiving the cutting means and effectuating the cutting.
Abstract:
In the production of packs, especially hinge-lid packs, from rigid packaging material (thin cardboard), hitherto individual blanks have been supplied in stacks and introduced into the packaging machine in succession. To make the handling of the blanks easier and to increase the storage capacity, the blanks (23) are now connected to one another via residual connections (25) into a continuous web of material (24) wound as a reel (30). Within the packaging machine, the blanks are severed from the web of material (23) in succession, specifically as a result of the elimination of the residual connections, preferably by being torn off. The residual connections (25) are formed in a region of the blanks (23) or in the region of folding tabs of the latter which, in the finished pack (hinge-lid pack), are concealed by other folding tabs, that is to say are on the inside.
Abstract:
A cut and score die apparatus is provided for progressively converting a sheet of material into blanks. The apparatus includes a punching section for punching scrap material from the sheet of material to define an array of interconnected blanks arranged in a grid of rows and columns on the sheet of material. A scoring section is provided for simultaneously scoring a first predetermined pattern on a trailing portion of a first row of blanks and a second predetermined pattern on the leading portion of a second, succeeding row of blanks on the sheet of material. A blanking section is also provided for piercing the sheet of material in a predetermined pattern to cut blanks from the sheet of material without producing any additional scrap material.
Abstract:
In packaging machines with an integrated apparatus for the production, storage and conveyance of blanks, the arrangement of the apparatus within the packaging machine is important. It is necessary to ensure that free unimpeded access to the units is possible. On the other hand, the actual operation of the packaging machine should not be impaired. For this purpose, a web of material (16) for the production of the blanks (13) and in the form of a wound reel (17), a conveying track (18) for the web of material (16), a severing station (19) for forming the blanks (13) and a blank track (26) for feeding the blanks (13) to a folding turret (10) are arranged on the rear side (25) of the packaging machine. The conveying track (18) for the web of material (16) extends parallel to the longitudinal mid-plane of the packaging machine. The blank track (26) follows this transversely.
Abstract:
Blanks (10) for producing folding boxes, etc., are severed from an advancing sheet (11), conveyed continuously, at a constant speed by first drawing rollers specifically by partial severing cuts (cutting lines 33, 34) supplementing one another and made in successive work cycles. The blanks (10) are severed from the sheet (11), with the exception of residual connections (35), and are separated completely from the sheet (11) by tearing as a result of a higher speed of additional drawing roller located downstream of the first rollers.
Abstract:
A cutter for cross cutting a main strip of material, or several elemental strips resulting from cutting of this strip in the longitudinal direction incorporates two cutting devices for cutting respectively over a width less than that of the strip, which devices are placed side-by-side at the same level in a direction parallel to the width of the strip, a cutting device for cutting over a width at least equal to that of the strip, at a level different from said level, and independently-adjustable means for the individual control of the three cutting devices for causing cutting at predetermined times which can be adjusted independently.
