A second base component includes one or more basic fillers. 摘要: Disclosed herein is a powder of discrete, macroporous, microspheroids, each having an average diameter in the range of 2 to 50 microns and each composed of a plurality of large colloidal particles joined and cemented together at their points of contact by 1 to 10% by weight of non-porous, amorphous silica. These microspheroids have a high degree of mechanical stability and a surface area between about 80 and 110% of that of the large colloidal particles. Also disclosed is a process for the manufacture of this powder.

摘要: An engineered stone includes a light transmitting mother material (I) and a phosphorescent chip (II). The light transmitting mother material (I) includes about 7 wt % to about 12 wt % of an unsaturated polyester resin (A) and about 88 wt % to about 93 wt % of a silica-containing compound (B) based on a total amount of the unsaturated polyester resin (A) and the silica-containing compound (B) of the light transmitting mother material (I), and further includes about 0.01 part by weight to about 1 part by weight of an organic/inorganic pigment (C) based on about 100 parts by weight of the unsaturated polyester resin (A). The phosphorescent chip (II) includes about 8 wt % to about 15 wt % of an unsaturated polyester resin (A′), about 85 wt % to about 92 wt % of a silica-containing compound (B′) based on a total amount of the unsaturated polyester resin (A′) and the silica-containing compound (B′) of the phosphorescent chip (II), and further includes about 2 parts by weight to about 10 parts by weight of a phosphorescent pigment (D) based on about 100 parts by weight of the unsaturated polyester resin (A′). The silica-containing compound (B′) includes about 20 wt % to about 30 wt % of a silica powder (b1′) based on a total amount of the phosphorescent chip (II).

摘要: Ceramic filler compositions of customized shapes (FIGS. 1-30) according to the present invention, includes ceramic and glass-ceramic particles having a customized shape which provides mechanical locking within a resin matrix giving significantly improved fracture toughness performance for a resin/glass or ceramic composite system. The material has particular application as a tooth filling material with significantly improved wear resistance. The wide range of unique-shaped filler particles are produced using wet chemistry methods according to the invention of preparing the ceramic particles for use in a resin matrix composite material. Such composite materials have a very wide application, especially as a dental composite filling material for restoring a tooth.

摘要: An improved reinforcing material for concrete and comprising a multitude of relatively short and substantially straight steel flakes. The steel flakes are of a shape tapering towards the ends of the flakes, and they have a thickness of about 0.1 mm to about 0.5 mm, a maximum width of at least about ten times the thickness, but at least about 2 mm, and a length of at least about 100 times the thickness. They are intended to be uniformly distributed and in principle randomly orientated in the concrete. The most preferred dimensions are: thickness 0.1 to 0.2 mm, maximum width 4 to 6 mm, and length 20 to 80 mm.
