    摘要: The invention relates to a package of performance additives for bitumen or bituminous compositions including an acidic adjuvant and a H2S scavenger chosen from organic or inorganic copper salts. The invention also relates to the use of said H2S scavenger in order to reduce the H2S emissions of bitumen or of a bituminous composition treated with the acidic adjuvant. The invention additionally relates to a process for the preparation of a bituminous composition. The preparation process according to the invention makes it possible to obtain bitumen/crosslinked polymer compositions having better mechanical and dynamic properties in comparison with the bitumen/crosslinked polymer compositions of the prior art, while substantially reducing the releases of hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

    摘要: A Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder emulsion is made by combining a viscosifier, an emulsifier, a Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder, optionally a saponification agent, and a base aqueous solution. During creation of the asphalt emulsion, none of the components or combinations of them exceeds 275° F. The Performance Grade sulfur-extended asphalt binder composition is made by combining free or element sulfur, a linear alkane material, optionally a saturated-backbone polymer modifier, optionally a non-aqueous acid, and a base asphalt. The disclosed Performance Graded sulfur-extended asphalt binder and Performance Graded asphalt sulfur-extended asphalt binder emulsion allow operators using these products directly or in combination with aggregates and other materials to mix and blend the compositions, and apply the compositions in the field, at temperatures less than 300° F.

    摘要: A process for producing a cross-linked bitumen/polymer composition (PmB) with a reduction in hydrogen sulphide (H2S) emissions including a production unit for the implementation of such a process. The production process includes the following successive steps: (a) preparing a cross-linked bitumen/polymer composition (PmB) in a reactor and, (b) transferring a predetermined quantity of the composition from the reactor to a storage tank and/or directly to a loading station via a distribution line, the composition being maintained at a temperature between 100° C. and 220° C. during the transfer. A reduction in hydrogen sulphide emissions (H2S) is carried out by the in-line injection of an effective quantity of a hydrogen sulphide (H2S) scavenger during the transfer step. The injection is carried out by continuous introduction of the hydrogen sulphide (H2S) scavenger into the distribution line downstream of the reactor and, upstream of the storage tank and the loading station.

    摘要: Methods of reducing toxic emissions from coal tar or asphalt compositions. The methods include providing an initial composition including coal tar, a coal tar emulsion, or asphalt and adding a rheological modifier to the initial composition to form a reduced emission composition, wherein the rheological modifier includes a tall oil saponified in an anhydrous strong base and wherein the reduced emission composition releases less toxic emissions into the atmosphere than the initial composition itself would otherwise release. Further, reduced emission compositions for reducing toxic emissions that would otherwise occur in coal tar compositions or asphalt compositions. The reduced emission compositions include an initial composition including coal tar, a coal tar emulsion, or asphalt; and a chemical rheological modifier including a tall oil saponified in an anhydrous strong base.
