Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method of pretreatment of a metallic substrate for a subsequent metal cold forming process. The method includes at least steps (1) and (2), namely providing at least one substrate having at least one surface at least partially made of at least one metal (step (1)), contacting the at least one surface of the substrate provided in step (1) with an aqueous lubricant composition (B) (step (2)), where the aqueous lubricant composition (B) includes besides water at least constituents (b1) to (b4) and optionally (b5). Further disclosed herein are a pretreated metallic substrate obtained by the method, a method of cold forming of a metallic substrate, and an aqueous lubricant composition (B).

Abstract:
A fuel composition, a lubricant composition, and methods for reducing friction or wear of moving parts. The fuel composition includes gasoline and from about 10 to about 500 ppm by weight of a dialkylaminoalkanol of the formula R1(R2)NCH2CH(R3)R4. The lubricant composition includes base oil of lubricating viscosity and from about 0.05 to about 5.0 weight percent of a dialkylaminoalkanol of the formula R1(R2)NCH2CH(R3)R4. In the above formulas wherein R1 is an alkyl group or a hydroxyalkyl group containing from 8 to 50 carbon atoms; R2 is an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R3 is selected from H and OH; and R4 is selected from H, an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and CH2OH and wherein at least one of R3 and R4 contains a hydroxyl group and provided that when R1 is a hydroxyalkyl group, R3 is OH and R4 is CH2OH.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of amines and/or Mannich adducts as detergents and/or dispersants in fuel and lubricant compositions for direct-injection gasoline engines. The invention further relates to fuel and lubricant compositions which comprise at least one such Mannich adduct, and also a bisaminoalkylated Mannich adduct.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward compositions suitable for use as dielectric fluids, lubricant fluids and biodiesel fluids. Compositions described herein are obtained from a saturated, unsaturated or combinations of both monol, diol, triol or polyol acyl ester based fluid and/or a non-ester based fluid and 2,4,6-tris(di-C1-C6-alkylaminomethyl) phenol and/or the carboxylic acid salt of 2,4,6-tris(di-C1-C6-alkylaminomethyl) phenol. These compositions demonstrate improved oxidative stability and/or hydrolytic stability at higher use temperatures.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel quaternized ammonium salts of hydrocarbyl epoxides, to the preparation thereof and to the use thereof as a fuel additive and lubricant additive, such as, more particularly, as a detergent additive; for reducing or preventing deposits in the injection systems of direct injection diesel engines, especially in common rail injection systems, for reducing the fuel consumption of direct injection diesel engines, especially of diesel engines with common rail injection systems, and for minimizing power loss in direct injection diesel engines, especially in diesel engines with common rail injection systems; and as an additive for gasoline fuels, especially for operation of DISI engines.
