A top surface of the tabular portion has a swelling portion with an outline that is line-symmetric with respect to the first and second axes of symmetry. In a lateral half portion of the outline, a short-side side crest portion that is convex toward the polygonal outline in the direction of the first axis of symmetry, concave corner-side trough portions connected to each end of the short-side side crest portion and long-side side crest portions that are connected to each corner-side trough portion and convex toward the polygonal outline are formed. On one of a top surface and an undersurface of the swelling portion, a pair of lateral ribs or a pair of longitudinal ribs that spreads toward the polygonal outline and transversely crosses the swelling portion is formed.

    摘要: A vibration and noise abatement reduction method and apparatus for a fluid reservoir containing an automotive fluid and having a bottom wall. At least a portion of the fluid reservoir is formed of or carries a shape memory change material undergoing shape change at a threshold temperature. A controller detects a match between the vehicle vibration frequency at a measured vehicle operating characteristic and the resonant frequency of the fluid reservoir and varies the resonant vibration frequency of the fluid reservoir by changing the stiffness of at least a portion of the reservoir through the supply of heat to the fluid reservoir resulting in a change in the shape of at least the shape memory change material in the fluid reservoir. The heat is supplied from an electrical conductor in heat transfer relation with the fluid reservoir or an elevated temperature of the automotive fluid in the fluid reservoir.

    摘要: A noise reducing oil pan assembly for a motor vehicle engine, adapted for attachment to the engine block underside, includes outer and inner nested pan units supported in spaced relation defining an oil chamber between the units. An inflow gap between the upper opposed edge portions of the units upstanding walls is positioned subjacent the outflow of engine block return oil passages. With the engine running, the return oil flow fills the chamber and thereafter the overflow is received by the inner unit reservoir for re-circulation to the engine. The chamber oil provides a barrier that dampens engine noise radiating from the oil pan assembly.
