摘要: A pump system for conveying a first fluid using a second fluid. The system includes at least a first pump having at least a first rigid outer casing defining a first interior space and a first flexible tube structure accommodated in the first interior space. The interior of the first flexible tube structure is arranged for receiving one of the first or second fluids. The region of the first interior space surrounding the first flexible tube structure is arranged for receiving the other of the first and second fluids. The first flexible tube structure is movable between laterally expanded and collapsed conditions for varying the volume of the interior of the first flexible tube structure, thereby imparting sequential discharge and intake strokes on the first fluid.

The electrochemical actuator has at least one electrode fluidically coupled to the driving fluid chamber of the first pump housing and at least one electrode fluidically coupled to the driving fluid chamber of the second pump housing. Accordingly, the electrochemical actuator selectively pressurized hydrogen gas within a driving fluid chamber. The actuator may include a membrane electrode assembly including an ion exchange membrane with first and second catalyzed electrodes in contact with opposing sides of the membrane, first and second current collectors in contact with the respective first and second catalyzed electrodes, a first hydrogen gas chamber in fluid communication with the first electrode, and a second hydrogen gas chamber in fluid communication with the second electrode. A controller may reverse the polarity of a voltage source electrically coupled to the current collectors, wherein a first polarity simultaneously decreases the hydrogen gas pressure in the first hydrogen gas chamber and increases the hydrogen gas pressure in the second hydrogen gas chamber, wherein a second polarity simultaneously increases the hydrogen gas pressure in the first hydrogen gas chamber and decreases the hydrogen gas pressure in the second hydrogen gas chamber.

摘要: A liquid pump is provided and particularly a downhole pump for use in an oil well bore for pumping oil or in a gas well to remove condensate. The downhole pump includes a plurality of pump and transfer modules, each of which includes an elongate housing with end couplings and with two internal passages extending therethrough. The pump module further has a bladder extending between the end couplings around the internal passages with the couplings having passages connecting one of the internal passages to space on one side of the bladder. When fluid, preferably gas, under pressure is supplied to that passage, the bladder forces liquid therein upwardly into the next module. At the same time, fluid under pressure is exhausted through one of the passages from the space on the opposite side of the bladder of the next pump module, aiding it to receive liquid from the pump module therebelow. The transfer modules supply the liquid up from a lower pump module to an upper one and connect the fluid passages to enable the fluid to operate the bladders. The modules have check valves at the lower ends enabling flow of liquid only in the upward direction. However, the check valves have provisions for being opened when fluid under greater than operating pressure is applied thereto to enable liquid in the modules to drain back down through the pump.

摘要: The apparatus comprises a displacement pump with at least one flow vessel, with a pump drive, and with a support means for holding the flow vessel. Furthermore, the apparatus comprises a measuring arrangement responsive to the displacement motions performed by the flow vessel, wherein said displacement motions are picked up by a pressure sensor diposed at the flow vessel or by a strain sensor disposed at the support means. The measuring arrangement serves to sense an actual displacement motion of the flow vessel robustly and reliably, and to deliver a measurement signal representative of this motion. The signal is particularly suited for generating a flow rate estimate representative of the instantaneous volume flow rate and/or for generating a status signal signaling a current operational status. Further, a method is disclosed which supplies information serving to monitor such an apparatus. The apparatus is suitable for using in a sampler.
