摘要: A system for determining eccentricity of a turbine shell and a turbine rotor of a gas turbine includes a laser module with a microprocessor having coupled thereto a wireless network chip, a laser sensor, an inclination sensor, and a power supply. The laser sensor transmits a laser toward the turbine shell as the rotor spins at slow speed and to receive a reflected laser from the turbine shell, thereby defining a path length indicative of a distance between the laser module and the turbine shell for each of a series of points disposed circumferentially around the turbine shell. The system further includes a bracket configured to hold the laser module proximate to a turbine blade; a base station that produces a wireless network near the turbine shell and that receives distance measurements from the laser module for each of the series of points; and a server for processing the distance measurements into an eccentricity plot.

摘要: A sensor signal produced by a sensor as a feedback device rotates with a propeller about an axis and moves along the axis with adjustment of a blade angle of the propeller is received, the sensor signal indicative of a rotational speed and of the blade angle of the propeller. From the sensor signal, it is determined whether the rotational speed is within a predetermined range of a reference speed and an expected change in the blade angle has occurred in response to a command to adjust the blade angle to maintain the rotational speed at the reference speed. In response to determining that the rotational speed is within the predetermined range of the reference speed and the expected change in the blade angle has failed to occur in response to the command, inoperable movement of the feedback device along the axis is determined and an alert is output.

In some aspects, a system includes a sensor unit oriented to detect the rotating machine component as the rotating machine component rotates past the sensor unit, the sensor unit including at least a first sensing element and a second sensing element spaced apart from the first sensing element. The system includes a sensor processing unit in electrical communication with the sensor unit. The sensor processing unit is configured for receiving a first waveform from the first sensing element; receiving a second waveform from the second sensing element; and determining, based on a comparison between the first waveform and the second waveform, a distance between the blade tip and the sensor unit.

摘要: An improved system, apparatus and method for estimating thrust from an engine, and more specifically, a system for estimating thrust from strain gauge and accelerometer measurements. At least one strain gauge is mounted on an engine mount to measure strain to estimate a constant velocity or steady-state portion of thrust. At least one accelerometer is mounted on the vehicle to measure acceleration to estimate a transient portion of thrust. Steady-state thrust estimation and transient thrust estimation are combined to estimate thrust from the engine. An algorithm provides steps for estimating thrust from strain gauge and accelerometer measurements.

摘要: A fault detection and diagnosis method for a gas turbine engines comprises collecting a sensor signal from an acoustic or vibrational sensor at the gas turbine engine, pre-processing the sensor signal to remove predictable background, and extracting a feature set from the sensor signal using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) algorithms and/or Code Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) algorithms. Fault and non-fault states are reported based on comparison between the feature set and a library of fault and non-fault feature profiles corresponding to fault and non-fault states of the gas turbine engine.

摘要: A method for fault identification for a gas turbine engine includes receiving sensor data from at least one health monitoring sensor of a health monitoring system for a gas turbine engine; utilizing a pre-filter to filter the sensor data and obtain filtered data based on a plurality of signatures of fault conditions of the health monitoring system and the gas turbine engine; utilizing at least one transfer function to extract features from the filtered sensor data based on the plurality of signatures; utilizing a machine learning technique to analyze the extracted features, and determine whether any of the extracted features are indicative of a fault condition in the health monitoring system or the gas turbine engine; and based on the analysis indicating the presence of a fault condition, providing a fault detection notification. A health monitoring system for a gas turbine engine is also disclosed.

摘要: A turbine engine including a fan, a nacelle circumscribing at least the fan, a compressor section downstream of the fan, and a conduit defined, at least in part, by the nacelle. The conduit includes a first opening at the compressor section, a second opening downstream of the fan and upstream of the compressor section, and a third opening upstream of the fan. Pressure sensors coupled to the nacelle are communicatively coupled to at least one actuator. The at least one actuator can adjust airflow between the first opening and the second opening, or between the first opening and the third opening. The pressure sensors can provide outputs for generating commands that control the at least one actuator.
