摘要: Hand-held optical thromboelastographic sensor and method of using the same for simultaneous assessment of multiple parameters of blood coagulation at a point-of-care. The sensor includes an optical system registering laser speckle intensities associated with portions of a blood sample delivered through a fluid switch to analysis chambers of a cartridge of the sensor, and data-processing circuitry programmed to derive the multiple parameters from speckle intensity. The circuitry may be part of a mobile device configured to operate without communication with a central server and/or data storage.

摘要: A system and method for sorting sperm is provided. The system includes a housing and a microfluidic system supported by the housing. The system also includes an inlet providing access to the microfluidic system to deliver sperm to the microfluidic system and an outlet providing access to the microfluidic system to harvest sorted sperm from the microfluidic system. The microfluidic system provides a flow path for sperm from the inlet to the outlet and includes at least one channel extending from the inlet to the outlet to allow sperm delivered to the microfluidic system through the inlet to progress along the flow path toward the outlet. The microfluidic system also includes a filter including a first plurality of micropores arranged in the flow path between the inlet and the outlet to cause sperm traveling along the flow path to move against through the filter and gravity to reach the outlet.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for selecting an expressed sequence from a library, comprising the following steps: Each of a plurality of eukaryotic cells comprising a cell wall comprises a nucleic acid sequence member of a library, which is expressed as a target membrane protein in said eukaryotic cells. The cell wall of the cells is permeabilized. The penneabilized cells are labeled with a ligand capable of binding to the target membrane protein. The ligand bears a detectable label. A subset of the labelled cells is selected as a function of detectable label present. Finally, an expressed nucleic acid sequence is isolated from said selection of cells in an isolation step.

By utilizing a microfluidic chip device together with optical force measurement and cell imaging, the methods enable comprehensive assessment and characterization of biological particles with regard to morphology, motility, binding affinities, and susceptibility to external forces, including but not limited to, chemical, biochemical, biological, physical and temperature influences. The methods enable the selection and production of biological particles, such as engineered T-cells, for use in immunotherapy and biomanufacturing.

摘要: A system for detecting bubbles within a liquid flowing in an interior of a pipe. The system includes a system for detecting bubbles within a liquid flowing in an interior of a pipe. The system includes a pressure sensor affixed to the interior of the pipe and a microcontroller communicating with the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor gathers pressure readings of the liquid flowing in the pipe at the location of the pressure sensor and sends the gathered pressure readings to the microprocessor. A pressure differential range over a specific period of time is selected which when exceeded, indicates the presence of bubbles in the liquid flowing in the pipe. The pressure differential range is utilized by the microcontroller to determine the presence of bubbles in the fluid flowing through the pipe. The microcontroller determines a presence of bubbles in the liquid based on an exceedance of the pressure differential range from pressure readings gathered by the pressure sensor over the selected period of time.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a dissociation reagent for tumor tissues. The dissociation reagent does not contain collagenase or trypsin but further contains hyaluronidase or a mixture of hyaluronidase and DNase I. The present disclosure also relates to use of the dissociation reagent in dispersing tumor tissues and detecting expression level of molecular markers on cell surface by flow cytometry. The dissociation reagent of the present disclosure does not cause degradation of molecular markers on cell surface such as CD8, PD-1, Tim-3, Lag-3 and the like, thus does not affect downstream assays.
