    摘要: Described herein is a technology for providing enhanced transactional caching. In accordance with one aspect, a transactional cache associated with a database is configured. The enhanced cache may support write operation by partial key or index. Execution of a write operation on the database is delayed until a flush is determined to be necessary. The write operation is delayed by performing the write operation on the transactional cache. The flush is invoked by performing a row-wise bulk operation that updates the database based on the transactional cache.

    摘要: Systems and methods for delivering social network updates from popular entities to receiver devices via broadcast or multicast networks obtain updates from highly popular entities. Updates may be assembled by a server crawling social network sites. To enable selective reception, the obtained updates may be broadcast/multicast according to a schedule that is communicated to receiver devices in advance, such as a catalog file. Receiver devices receive the catalog file and use the included information to selectively receive updates that are relevant to a user of the receiver device. Updates received from broadcasts or multicasts are cached in memory of the receiver device. When a user requests to access a particular social network entity on the receiver device, that request may be satisfied by accessing social network updates cached on the receiver device. Broadcasting and/or multicasting highly popular social network updates may relieve burdens on unicast networks.

Temporal invariants are defined as information with temporal variation frequencies are substantially zero. These invariants are shared along temporal dimension of videos for data compression, information gaining. We judge some of the invariants as background.Clustering also create structure in a videos. These clusters can be recognized from named objects, patterned relationship database and landscape database. With these recognized names and patterns, the structure of video can be serialized into natural language.Background from multiple videos can then be merged and concatenated into large continuous backgrounds. Large quantity of outdoor video can form a landscape database with moving objects and people been removed. Overlapping background from different time allows for high variant portion of the background been identified for Lost and Found and intelligence gathering application.Viewing point and viewing angle normalization, multiple resolution matching (and recoding) biased toward lower resolution preceding higher resolution are important technique to vastly improving opportunities of finding good matching. Viewing point and viewing angle normalization produce a set of discrete viewing points and viewing angles, where information from different viewing point and viewing angles are further shared.

    摘要: There is provided a file server which is capable of suppressing power consumption of a storage apparatus. When a file sharing program receives a file access from a client, the program makes reference to a mapping table. Then, the program addresses the access to the target file in the volume of a RAID group in which the target file is stored. A coupling-request reception program memorizes a coupling time for each user into a coupling history table. A grouping program applies a grouping to users whose coupling time-zones are similar to each other. A data transfer program transfers, into the same RAID group, data of the files associated with the grouped users, thereby collecting the data of the files into the same RAID group. On account of this, the time-zone during which no access is made to the RAID group (i.e., non-coupling time-zone) can be made longer. Accordingly, a spin-up/down request program makes a spin-down request to the RAID group in the non-coupling time-zone.
