    摘要: The present invention relates to a plucked string performance data generation device, including a MIDI input interface used for receiving MIDI data, a plurality of infrared emitters and a plurality of infrared receivers used for forming infrared strings distributed radially in form of a sector, and an infrared emitter and an infrared receiver used for a mute switch, a microcontroller used for generating MIDI data from chord data acquired from the MIDI input interface and interrupt data of the infrared strings, a MIDI output interface connected with the microcontroller, and touch pads mounted onto corresponding infrared receivers. The device has an infrared string layout in form of a sector and the touch pads arranged above infrared string sensors to form a dual sensors, where appropriate, a user may use different sensors to control the same target, whereby realizing simulation of sound of a string instrument and facilitating the use thereof.

    摘要: An end-user system (10) for transforming real-time streams of content into an output presentation includes a user interface (30) that allows a user to interact with the streams. The user interface (30) includes sensors (32a-f) that monitor an interaction area (36) to detect movements and/or sounds made by a user. The sensors (32a-f) are distributed among the interaction area (36) such that the user interface (30) can determine a three-dimensional location within the interaction area (36) where the detected movement or sound occurred. Different streams of content can be activated in a presentation based on the type of movement or sound detected, as well as the determined location. The present invention allows a user to interact with and adapt the output presentation according to his/her own preferences, instead of merely being a spectator.

    摘要: A system and method of enhancing guitar instruction based on Tablature Plus encoding of playing techniques within a MIDI file or other data structure, that may be rendered on an associated player application that provides multimedia output of the piece being played including a number of playing techniques. The system hardware for encoding the information includes string motion monitoring, and optionally a hand motion and finger positioning sensor, such as a data glove or a video motion capture system, for simultaneously registering the actions of the guitarist while playing the piece. The software comprises algorithms for determining note pitch and duration, and for extracting playing techniques from the data being collected. Multimedia player software is also described which renders a visual and audio output for the Tablature Plus encoded file, wherein the encoded playing techniques are represented within the display output. The system is adaptable to instruction for any instrument.
