    摘要: A power supply device is provided for metallurgical equipment, which is to be operated with electric energy with a non-linear load and has a maximum power consumption equal to or greater than 180 MVA, such as for an electric arc furnace having a power consumption equal to or greater than 180 MVA. In such a power supply device, at least two structurally equivalent three-phase furnace transformers (100, 200) having an output power rating equal to or greater than 90 MVA include a delta interconnection (D) on the input side thereof and an external interconnection (iii) on the output side thereof. A low voltage-side parallel circuit (400) of output-side low voltage connectors of the furnace transformers (100, 200) includes symmetrized external delta interconnections implemented as water-cooled high current conductors. The low voltage-side parallel circuit is connectable in an electrically symmetrized manner to electrodes of the metallurgical equipment (10).

    摘要: Systems and methods for liquid heat exchange for transformers are described. One embodiment of a fluid heat exchanger includes a transformer inlet port that is coupled to a transformer chamber and receives a dielectric fluid from the transformer chamber. Also included are a cooling fluid inlet for receiving a cooling fluid and a finned heat sink that includes a fluid communicator. The fluid communicator may receive, at a first chamber, the dielectric fluid from the transformer inlet port and directs the dielectric fluid across a first plurality of cooling fins. The fluid communicator may receive, at a second chamber, the cooling fluid from the cooling fluid inlet and may direct the cooling fluid across a second plurality of fins, where the fluid communicator separates the first chamber from the second chamber with a solid divider.

    摘要: A high frequency water cooled transformer for coupling a power source to an induction heating coil and which serves to convert the output of the power source into values appropriate for the induction heating coil, and to match the impedance of the power source with the impedance of the heating coil for maximum power transfer efficiency. The primary of the transformer is adapted to be connected to the power source and the secondary is adapted to be connected to the induction heating coil. The transformer includes a secondary formed of two parallel self-supporting elongated open-ended electrically conductive cylindrical members which are separated and insulated from one another. A pair of electrically conductive terminal blocks are respectively mounted on one of the ends of the cylinders and electrically connected to the cylinders. The primary winding is wound longitudinally through the two secondary cylinders, and the ends of the primary are connected to appropriate terminal pins. Each of the cylindrical members has an internal sleeve which defines an annular passage through the corresponding cylindrical member, and means is provided for circulating a coolant through the cylindrical members and through the terminal blocks. Each secondary cylinder is surrounded by a plurality of ferrite toroid cores, and the assembly is potted so that the cores, the secondary cylinders and the primary windings are all sealed to one another by heat conductive potting compound.

    摘要: A transformer for a welding gun has a reduced resistance and reactance thus drawing less current. The transformer is of substantially reduced weight and may be operated at high duty cycles and in a welding gun performing a large number of welds per hour. The transformer is formed of a hollow coil and coolant is flowed through the coil to directly cool the primary. The secondary is electrically insulated from the primary but physically adjacent the primary so that heat from the secondary is dissipated through the primary to the contact.
