Abstract:
The present disclosure is generally directed to an RF connector assembly for use within a node of a broadband distribution network, and can receive a center conductor pin of a coaxial cable, e.g., via insertion by a technician, and electrically couple the center conductor pin to circuitry within the node, such as an amplifier. The RF connector assembly preferably also securely physically couples to the center conductor pin via a spring-biased arrangement (and thus by extension securely couples the coaxial cable to the housing of the node) which can supply a bias force to the center conductor pin in response to insertion of the same into the RF connector assembly. This advantageously eliminates the necessity of opening the housing of the node to couple/decouple the center conducting pin of the coaxial cable to the node.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A spring-loaded device is installed into a node housing at a predetermined location. The predetermined location is selected to correspond to another predetermined location into which a stinger may be installed. These predetermined locations on the node housing are selected to further correspond to a predetermined internal location of an RF interface connector. A conducting pin of the RF interface extends through a dielectric between a nail head shaped end, which provides electrical connection with the stinger projection, and an end soldered to a PCB of the amplifier. The amplifier may be installed and the node housing closed before the stinger and spring-loaded device are installed into the housing. This facilitates installation of the stinger into the housing without having to open the housing and remove the amplifier. External threads on the spring-loaded device facilitate installation thereof, but a unique torque is not required therefor.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for electrically connecting a stinger into a network node may include installing a non-conductive force exerting means through a port of a closed node housing of a network node. The method may include extending the force exerting means from outside the node housing to within the interior of the network node and adjusting the force exerting means without accessing the interior of the node housing to exert a force on the conductor of a stinger installed within the interior of the network node to contact and forcibly bring the conductor of the stinger into electrical contact with an interface means installed within the interior of the network node to establish an electrical interface and seize the conductor of the stinger within the interior of the network node.
Abstract:
A coaxial connection assembly including a coaxial jack. The jack is positioned within a longitudinal opening of a housing. The first end of the jack extends through a first end of the housing and the second end of the jack extends through a second end of the housing. The jack may only be inserted within and removed from the housing through the first end and may be held within the opening by a catch. Rotation of the jack within the opening is prevented. The housing includes a mounting flange extending away from the longitudinal opening. The flange may be adjacent the first end of the housing, and may include an opening for receiving a fastener. Sidewalls may extend from the flange toward the second end.
Abstract:
A power supply system includes a power source and a control circuit. The power source provides DC power. A control circuit, which is remote to the power source, receives the DC power and provides a first DC power signal to an electronic device. The control circuit includes an active component to provide at least one of a voltage control output or a current control output to the power source to regulate the DC power. A power supply system includes a power source and a control circuit. The control circuit is remote to the power source, receives the DC power, and provides the DC power to an electronic device. The control circuit includes a microprocessor to provide at least one of a voltage control output and a current control output to the power source to regulate the DC power.
Abstract:
A ground terminal capable of being downsized and having good electrical connectability with a chassis. The ground terminal includes a ground terminal body formed into an annular shape as viewed in plan, and at least one connection portion formed integrally with the ground terminal body, the connection portion being bendable and extending from an inner circumference of the ground terminal body toward the center of the ground terminal. When a mounting screw used to mount a printed board mounted with the ground terminal to a chassis is inserted into the annular ground terminal body and a mounting hole of the printed board, the connection portion of the ground terminal is bent in the mounting hole to be brought in contact with the chassis.

Abstract:
An electrical connector for interconnecting a portable radio and accessory devices. The connector attached to the accessory device includes a slot for initially engaging a tab on the portable radio, which provides proper alignment between the portable radio and the connector, while the connector is rotated toward the portable radio. Maintaining alignment ensures proper mating between the electrical contacts of the portable radio and the electrical contacts of the connector, and further ensures that a quarter turn latching device of the connector is properly received by a receiving member on the portable radio. The user then rotates the quarter turn latching device to urge the contacts against each other and secure the connector in place. Because the electrical connector includes a two-point attachment mechanism to the portable radio, rotation of the connector relative to the portable radio is prevented.
Abstract:
A new, small form factor power supply is disclosed that provides a regulated DC power supply in a package that radiates relatively little heat and that occupies 2.75" by 4.5" by 0.75". The secondary coil of the transformer is positioned at the summing node of the flux of the primary coils and the phase of the drive signals provided to the secondary coils is regulated to control the current and voltage provided by the secondary circuit. Preferably, all circuit components are surface mount devices and the transformer cores are E block planar cores mounted on the printed circuit board.
