摘要: The invention relates to a method for sealing a contact point region comprising at least one contact point at an electrical line connection, wherein the line connection comprises at least one electrical line and at least one conductive element electrically connected thereto. The method starts by arranging a shrink tube on the outer circumference of the contact point region, in a first region extending over the contact point region on both sides in the longitudinal direction. This is followed by heating the shrink tube to shrinking temperature. During the heating of the shrink tube, an inductive heating of the electrical conductor is additionally performed, at least in the contact point region, and so hotmelt adhesive arranged inside the shrink tube and/or on the outer circumference of the contact point region is heated to its melting temperature. The invention also relates to a device for sealing a contact point region and to a sealing at such a region.

摘要: A device (1) for forming an electrical connection at the end of a bundle of wires (2) comprises an electrically insulating, preferably heat-shrinkable, sleeve (3), a metallic connecting element (4) located within the sleeve, and a quantity of solder (8) for forming a permanent electrical connection between the conductors. The connecting element (4) has a tapering internal surface which has a screw thread so that a temporary electrical connection can be formed by screwing the bundle of wires into the connecting element. Preferably the connecting element is formed by winding a wire, e.g. hard tempered copper wire, into a frusto-conical form. Splices in wire bundles may be made by means of a device in which the connecting element has a pair of internally threaded portions into which different cable bundles can be screwed.

摘要: This invention provides a method for soldering using induction heating, which is accomplished by the use of lossy heating particles in or on the solder. The method of this invention provides direct heating of the solder itself through induction heating of the magnetic particles in an alternating magnetic field. The magnetic particles useful in this invention can be ferromagnetic particles or ferrimagnetic particles, preferably ferrites, which have a Curie temperature at least equal to the flow temperature of the solder. Selection of the magnetic lossy heating particles with the appropriate Curie temperature for the system in which the particles are being used provides a system in which the temperature is self-regulating when the alternating magnetic field is applied. This self-regulation feature prevents overheating of the solder in the articles being soldered. The invention also discloses the selection of particles with surface properties whereby the particles can either be wetted by the solder and remain in the solder when the solder flows or it can be nonwettable by the solder whereby the particles separate from the solder when the solder flows. The surface properties can also be provided by coatings on the particles. This invention also discloses solder compositions comprising solder and lossy heating particles which produce the desired heat in an alternating magnetic field. The invention also provides systems and assemblies for the use of the above method and composition.

摘要: A heater preform comprised of a layer of magnetic material on a layer of nonmagnetic conductive metal comprises a self-regulating heater, and the heater preform is wrapped around or against a solder preform within a length of heat recoverable tubing. A conductor wire is inserted into one end of the tubing and a terminal solder tail into the other end; when radio frequency current is induced in the heater preform by a surrounding coil, the heater generates thermal energy melting the solder within the tubing, terminating the terminal to the wire, or two wires together. With sealant preforms at the ends of the tubing, the sealant preforms melt and the tubing shrinks to conform to the wire and terminal therewithin, sealing the termination simultaneously with forming the solder joint.
