    摘要: A head-mounted image display apparatus includes optical visual units mounted on a laterally disposed shaft and adjustable so as to be movable toward and away from each other for establishing a correct eye spacing for a user. LCD display panels are mounted within the optical visual units so as to be vertically movable while ocular lenses onto which images displayed by the LCDs are projected via an obliquely arranged mirror are positionally fixed relative the eyes of the user such that focus adjustment will not cause image dropout and so that focus and eye spacing may be established independently of each other. Sliders provided for effecting focus and eye spacing adjustment are mounted such that frictional force is applied thereto for providing smooth but sure movement of the sliders so that a set position of the sliders may be reliably maintained. The sliders may be mounted via a self lubricating mounting to improve adjustment smoothness and slide characteristics.

    摘要: A screen is disclosed for viewing depth of field images. The screen includes a prismatic screen mounted between a flat image and a viewer. Additional optical elements may be provided to enlarge a viewed image. A light hood may be provided to reduce glare and other effects of ambient light. Coating the screen with an anti-reflective coating may provide further protection from ambient light. Restructuring the image into smaller image elements provides image quality for a video image or the like. An aspherical lens may be used to minimize or remove distortion of the image perceived by a viewer to the side, above or below the center viewing axis of the screen. The present invention may find particular application in computer monitor systems, medical and obstetric imaging such as sonograms, musculo-skeletal imaging, vascular imaging, angiograms, angioplasty, dental probes, catheter probes, ear probes, endoscopy, laparoscopy, pelviscopy and arthroscopy.

    摘要: A computer system stereoscopically projects a three dimensional object having an interface image in a space observable by a user. The user controls the movement of a physical object within the space while observing both the three dimensionally projected object and the physical object. The computer system monitors the position of the user to determine the position of the interface image within the space and further monitors the movement of the physical object to determine its position. A control signal is generated in response to the position of the physical object intersecting the position of the interface image. For example, a word processing program is indicated by an interface image such as an icon including the letter "W" three dimensionally projected within the space. The word processing program is activated when the user's finger moves within the space to touch the projected icon. The interface allows the user to observe the projected icon, physical finger and their intersection within the space. The physical object may also be extended with a stereoscopic extension image generated by the computer system in response to determining the position and orientation of the physical object.

A user then views at a terminal remote from the centralized hub station, a simulated lenticular image using at least some images of the series displayed to simulate viewing an actual lenticular image formed from the images of the series. Following such viewing, an approval is transmitted from the remote terminal to the centralized hub station, for a plurality of the images of the series to be printed as the actual lenticular image. The actual lenticular image is then printed at the hub station based on the approval.

    摘要: An improved stereoscopic image displaying system is disclosed. A pair of adjacent image displaying means generate a stereoscopic pair of images. A semitransparent mirror and two polarizing filters merge the two images in the same virtual space and impart distinctive polarization to light rays carrying the two images displayed. A louver type filter suppresses the residual view generated by one of the displaying means. The louvers will allow only the image reflected on said semitransparent mirror to pass. A second louver type filter compensates the attenuation that the first louver type filter has introduced, in such a way that the two combined images are of adequately similar intensity. A user wearing polarizing spectacles can see a clear stereoscopic image from a variety of angles.
