    摘要: A device for effecting continuous annular fancy cuts such as serrations around melons and the like comprises an elongated substantially linear base and support member having a trough-like cross section. A flat central portion of the base and support member carries an elongated upstanding generally linear cutter which extends longitudinally atop the member and which is adapted at an upper edge to sever the skin of melons and the like. The shape of the cutter when viewed from above in one embodiment is a conventional saw-tooth and the saw tooth cut or serration is provided continuously around a melon midsection by rolling the same along the length of the cutter. Side portions of the trough-like base and support member are oppositely inclined at approximately thirty degrees (30) to urge the melon toward a linear or straight line revolution along and atop the cutter. The height of the cutter relative to the base and support member is such that the melon is severed to a desired depth through and beneath the skin to permit ready separation into half sections.

    摘要: A device for punching holes in a surveyor's chain and in metal pieces used for repairing the chain and for riveting together the punched chain and metal pieces comprising an elongated vertical housing having an elongated vertically oriented opening extending transversely therethrough and defined by a continuous wall, an upper vertical bore extending from the top of the housing into the vertical opening, a lower female die element received in the lower portion of the opening and having a flat horizontally extending recess therein whose width is equal to that of the chain to be repaired, the female die element also including a pair of spaced holes located on the flat recess, an upper male die member received in the upper portion of the opening and vertically slidable therein, the male die member having a pair of punching rods projecting downwardly, an arbor shaft having a threaded portion received in a threaded portion of the upper bore, a handle for rotating the arbor shaft, the arbor shaft having a lower portion adapted, upon rotation, to engage the upper end of the male die member for urging the male die member downwardly toward the female die member so as to urge the punching rods against a chain portion received in the flat recess on the female die member, whereby, upon continued rotation of the arbor shaft the punching rods will punch holes through the chain portion and pass at least partially into the openings in the female die member, and a lower handle or mounting for restraining rotation of the lower end of the housing. The device also includes rivet blocks to replace the die elements for securing rivets to overlapping prepunched metal strips.

    摘要: A meshes cutting machine for permitting the continuous cutting of a length of meshes which are being moved or advanced continuously rather than intermittently. The meshes cutting machine includes a pair of cooperating cutting edges placed in a vertical direction, with the upper cutting edge being stationary and the lower cutting edge being adapted to move vertically to cut the widthwise members of the meshes; a guide groove adapted to guide the meshes which are cut continuously; and a drive pawl mechanism adapted to drive the meshes forward and, at the same time, to position the lengthwise member composed along the advancing direction of the meshes at a desired spacing from the cutting line of the meshes maintaining parallelism with the aforesaid cutting line and with the advancing direction. This drive pawl mechanism may shift in a direction perpendicular to the cutting line by means of a screw mechanism to change the aforesaid spacing of the lengthwise members of the meshes from the cutting edges.

    摘要: The process for the production of a thermoelectrically weldable zone in thermoplastic materials is significantly improved by the true-to-size, air-free embedding of the heating conductor at a clearly defined depth below the joining surface. For this purpose in a first process step a sublevel wire bed bottom is cut in the material, in which is cut a substantially inverted T-shaped incision, running in two planes and at the desired depth, measured from the material surface and, following the surface profile, the cut is passed along the heating conductor insertion line. Using the same tool the cover strips formed are raised and stretched along the path of cut, so that an open channel is formed with the sublevel wire bed bottom. Preferably in the same operation the wire bed is also cut true-to-size with a cutting tool and corresponding to the heating conductor. In a later process step the heating conductor is placed through the still open channel, the cover strips are pressed and then melted. What is left behind is a groove-free, smooth joint surface, over which extends a fine, non-raised melt scar.
