摘要: A coupling device that reduces the risk of cross-contamination of dialyzers during reprocessing by providing a reusable, easily disinfected connector for coupling a dialyzer to, e.g., the blood line of a dialyzer reprocessing system. The coupling device is in the form of a one-piece adapter for being screwed to the luer connector of a dialyzer and then axially attached to a blood line of a dialyzer reprocessing device via a quick connect/disconnect coupling. The adapter is reusable and easily disinfected by soaking it in liquid disinfectant.

摘要: A filtration unit is disclosed for a dialysis machine. The unit includes a casing with a number of first connecting elements and a support provided with a number of second connecting elements. Structure is provided for locking the filter on the support when the first and second connecting elements engage each other. The lock structure may include a pair of slides movable between a locking position, in which locking parts interact with stopping portions, and a release position, in which the filter is not locked to the support. An elastic structure may be provided for resiliently urging the slides into the locking position.

摘要: A device for measuring the pressure of blood in a pipe (44) of an extracoporeal blood cicuit, includes a pressure measurement section (46) having a compartment (58) which is delimited especially by a main wall (64) and by a secondary wall (65) facing it. The two walls (64, 65) have a hole (66, 84) which is closed by a closure element (68, 86) which can be elastically deformed under the effect of the blood pressure, and the compartment (58) has a spacer (94) which transmits the movements from the closure element (86) of the secondary wall (65) to the closure element (68) of the main wall (64), so that a load sensor (56) can measure a force which corresponds to a so-called “negative” blood pressure.

摘要: A monodirectional or bi-directional distributor plate for crossflow cassette-type filtration appliances is provided which comprises three parts and is used in the ultrafiltration or microfiltration of liquids. The three-part distributor plate assembly comprises a middle plate member, an upper plate member and a lower plate member, which when combined has a front and rear surface, a first and second side wall and a first and second edge wall. The front and rear surfaces of the distributor plate assembly are provided with feed, residue and filtrate orifices arranged to communicate with feed, residue and filtrate orifices of a plurality of filter cassettes. Due to the manner of flow to and/or from associated filter cassettes by way of the three-part distributor plate assembly, equal pressure can be achieved at all orifices to ensure equal flow over a filter membrane surface increasing filtration performance. The three-part construction of the distributor plate allows for easy adaptability to various installations.

摘要: The invention disclosed relates to a method and apparatus for separating a mixture containing an aqueous liquid and an immiscible organic phase using microporous hollow fibers. Such mixtures are separated into a substantially organic-free aqueous phase and a substantially aqueous-free organic phase. The mixture is pressurized in a controlled low shear manner to minimize emulsification as it is contacted with the fibers. Productivity is enhanced by separating as a third product stream, a further organic phase containing only small amounts of an aqueous phase, which for some applications can usefully be combined with the substantially aqueous-free organic phase. Other ways for enhancing productivity are also disclosed.
