摘要： A method for fabricating a fitmented flexible bottle is disclosed which involves feeding webs including one or more gussets, creating perimeter seals around only the top portion of the bottle, inserting the fitment from the input end of the machine in the direction of web travel, forming the remainder of the perimeter seams, detaching the nascent bottle from the web, and sealing the neck section of the bottle to the fitment by clamping the neck section with a heated clamp, and preferably repeating the seal operation at a different radial angle. Sealing the fitment by application of ultrasonic energy is also disclosed. In another embodiment, the fitment is sealed to the neck section of the bottle by utilizing heated wheels against the neck and rotating the bottle to create a seal all around the neck.

摘要： For the production of loop handle shopping bags based on semi-tube sheeting consisting of thermoplastic plastic, an edge strip of the semi-tube sheeting is folded onto itself and reinforcement warps, consisting of a weld-friendly thermoplastic plastic that provides a good weld, are attached on the interior sides of the edge areas by means of glueing or welding at a distance corresponding to the width of the shopping bags to be produced.Subsequently, the edge strip is folded back so that the added reinforcement warps are positioned back-to-back. Double-layer handle strips are positioned in a U-shape and placed between the reinforcement warps with their end areas of the free shanks, and welded together with the edge areas through the reinforcement warps between welding devices. The shopping bags are then separated from the semi-tube sheeting by means of separating weld seams.

摘要： A combination of a self-opening shopping bag and a coupon strip is disclosed together with apparatus and a method for making same. An elongated coupon strip containing coupons is affixed inside the front panel of the bag. The coupon packet is sized and positioned widthwise between the side gussets of the bag. The strip has a perforated margin portion and only the margin is adhered to the bag so that the coupons can be readily detached. The coupon-applying apparatus includes a coupon strip roll stand positioned in line with the bag paper roll stand. A glue applicator is mounted on the coupon strip roll stand for applying glue to the margin of the strip. The coupon strip meets the underside of the bag paper as the paper travels around an outfeed roller of the bag paper roll stand. The coupon roll stand includes a brake for tensioning the strip. Spacers are mounted on the former and spaced apart for the coupon strip to pass between them. The bag paper is formed into a tube enclosing the strip and protecting it during subsequent steps in the bag-making process. A metering pump is operably connected to a rotationally driven element of the bag-making machine for proportioning the discharge of glue from the glue applicator to the rate of bag production.

摘要： A combination of a self-opening shopping bag and a coupon packet is disclosed together with apparatus and a method for making same. A flat coupon packet containing coupons is affixed to the front panel of the bag. The coupon packet is sized and positioned widthwise between the side gussets of the bag and spaced apart from the bottom of the bag so that, when the bag is folded flat, only the front and rear panels of the bag underlie the packet. The coupon-applying apparatus is designed and positioned to apply coupons at the beginning of the bag-making procedure. It includes a glue applicator mounted adjacent the former of the bag-making machine for applying a strip of glue to a side of the continuous sheet opposite the forming means, the strip extending lengthwise of the sheet in a predetermined lateral position. A packet feeder is mounted on the former just downstream of the glue applicator for feeding coupon packets lengthwise of the paper flat onto the continuous sheet upon the strip of glue. A mechanical and electrical timing system is operably connected to a rotationally driven element of the bag-making machine for synchronizing therewith the operation of the glue applicator and packet feeder. It is timed to position each packet on the continuous sheet of bag paper at periodic intervals in a predetermined longitudinal location such that the packets neither interfere with nor are removed by subsequent steps in the bag-making procedure.

摘要： An apparatus for securing handles onto a stream of bags sequentially transported on a first conveyer and then is engaged by a second conveyer. The second conveyer interacts with the first conveyer to receive the bags and take them through a series of stations. At one of these stations, handles are attached to each of the bags. A supply of handle material is cut into flat strips. The flat strips are bent into a U-shape and the legs thereof are fastened onto the bags.
