    摘要: To provide an electrically powered brake system capable of performing a control of the braking force appropriate to a particular wheel rotational speed with high response and capable of being simplified in structure with no need to employ any hydraulic equipment and the related pipe lines, the electrically powered brake system includes an actuating unit 18 including a brake wheel 16 mounted on a vehicle wheel 1 and brake pieces 17 frictionally engageable with the brake wheel 16. A drive unit 19 is operable to translate a rotary output of an electric drive motor 20 into a rectilinear reciprocating motion by means of a ball screw mechanism 23, which rectilinear reciprocating motion is transmitted to the brake pieces 17 as a braking force. An operating unit 32 is operable to control the electric drive motor 20 according to manipulation of an operating member 31 such as, for example, a brake pedal. An anti-skid control device 35 is provided for regulating the braking force, exerted by the electric drive motor 20, in dependence on the number of revolutions of the vehicle wheel 1 during a braking effected by manipulation of the operating member 31. For a rotation detector 1 for detecting the number of revolutions of the vehicle wheel 1, the rotation detector 1 including a magnetic encoder 37 is employed.

    摘要: A brake pedal feel emulator for a motor vehicle brake system includes a housing having a bore for supporting a first piston operably connected to a brake pedal. An elastomer spring encapsulating a magnet or magnetized by the dispersion of ferrous particles throughout the spring body is engageable by the first piston and is disposed in the emulator housing. A second piston is disposed in the housing and engaged with the elastomer spring and with a mechanical spring. Hall effect sensors mounted on the emulator housing sense changes in a magnetic field generated by the magnet to provide signals to a controller proportional to travel and force exerted on the brake pedal for use in controlling the vehicle brake system.

    摘要: An electronically controlled parking or safety brake is disclosed. The brake is capable of reliably immobilizing a locomotive. A brake may employ both manual and automatic modes, and be capable of providing for either mode in operation. The electronic control system facilitates the setting and releasing of the brake in the automatic mode without any manual manipulation or readjustment of gears, handles, levers, pawls, and the like being required by an operator. An actuating mechanism is capable of operating in a first mode to set the brake and in a second mode to release the brake. A motor, clutch, gearing means, ratchet mechanism, solenoid, and electronic control system are operatively connected to a chain to set the brake on the locomotive wheel. Further, remote operation of the brake is possible through hard wired control signals or by wireless communication using a transmitter to send signals to the electronic control means. Further, determination of the applied brake force may be through local sensing of motor current or remote sensing through a load sensor located at the wheel braking device.
