The supplemental brake application apparatus is configured to be installed in a towed vehicle. The supplemental brake application apparatus is configured to move a brake pedal of the towed vehicle between a first position and a second position. The supplemental braking monitor is also configured to be installed in the towed vehicle. The supplemental braking monitor includes a proximity sensor configured to produce a proximity detection signal, and a mounting plate configured to secure the proximity sensor in a position such that the proximity sensor can detect movement of the brake pedal. The proximity detection signal is based at least in part on movement of the brake pedal. The transmitter is configured to send a brake status signal to a towing vehicle.

The two twisted-pair wires have the same twist direction, the twist direction of the two twisted-pair wires is different from a twist direction of the assembled article, and the twist direction of the assembled article is different from a winding direction of the tape member.

摘要: A brake booster assembly and method of operation thereof are provided. The assembly includes a rack moveable along a first axis. A sensor is coupled with the rack for sensing force and displacement of the rack and outputting a proportional signal. A clutch subassembly is disposed adjacent and coupled to the rack and includes a drum and a hub in a spaced relationship with the drum. A motor is disposed adjacent the rack and coupled to the clutch subassembly for rotating the drum. A magnetorheological fluid is disposed between the drum and the hub. An electromagnet is disposed about the clutch subassembly for generating an electromagnetic field to affect the viscosity of the magnetorheological fluid. A controller is electrically connected to the electromagnet and to the sensor and to the motor for controlling the motor and the electromagnetic field of the electromagnet in response to the signal from the sensor.

Each of the brake mechanisms has a friction-receiving member that rotates together with the wheel; and a friction-applying member that moves while being powered by an electric actuator, and obtains the braking force by pressing the friction-applying member against the friction-receiving member.

摘要: A gearing unit of a motor vehicle actuator, in particular an electric parking brake, includes a gearing housing in which a driven first shaft and a driving second shaft having fixed rotational axes are located. A first toothed wheel is mounted on the first shaft and a second toothed wheel is mounted on the second shaft. The first toothed wheel and the second toothed wheel engage with one another through a third toothed wheel. The housing for the third toothed wheel has at least two spatially offset bearing points in order to adjust a transmission ratio between the first shaft and the second shaft. An electric parking brake having a gearing unit is also provided.

摘要: A method of tensioning a park brake system of a vehicle includes providing an adjustment mechanism having a nut in threaded engagement with a rod that defines a signal to noise ratio therebetween. The nut is advanced on the rod to remove slack until torque applied to the nut indicates that the park cables include a tension equal to an offset tension level. The nut is then retracted on the rod to introduce slack into the park cables and reduce the tension in the park cables to a target slack tension level. A signal to noise ratio between the nut and the rod is improved so that the cable tension may be predicted by the torque required to turn the nut on the rod, thereby allowing a torque indicating tool to measure the tension in the park cables my measuring the torque required to turn the nut on the rod.
