摘要: Disclosed is a carbon-based fiber sheet and a lithium-sulfur battery including the same. The carbon-based fiber sheet for the lithium-sulfur battery is doped with a high concentration of nitrogen and thus plays a role of preventing diffusion by adsorbing lithium polysulfide eluted from a positive electrode during charging and discharging, thereby suppressing a shuttle reaction and thus improving capacity and lifecycle properties of the lithium-sulfur battery.

摘要: A process and system are provided for introducing a blend of chopped and dispersed fibers on an automated production line amenable for inclusion in molding compositions as a blended fiber mat for structural applications. The blend of fibers are simultaneously supplied to an automated cutting machine illustratively including a rotary blade chopper disposed above a vortex supporting chamber. The blend of chopped fibers and binder form a chopped mat. The chopped mat has a veil mat placed on either side, and is consolidated with the veil mat using heated rollers maintained at the softening temperature of thermoplastic binder, with consolidated mats being amenable to being stored in rolls or as flat sheets. A charge pattern is made using the consolidated mat, and the charge pattern can be compression molded in a mold maintained at a temperature lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic fibers.

摘要: A nonwoven mat and a method of making a nonwoven mat are provided. The nonwoven mat includes reinforcing fibers and a binder composition that includes a polycarboxy polymer and polymer microspheres. The binder composition may also include low-density fibers, such as microfibrillated cellulose fibers. The polymer microspheres have a thermoplastic shell that encapsulates a blowing agent. The thermoplastic shell has magnesium hydroxide on its outer surface. The components of the binder composition interact with one another and/or the reinforcing fibers to form a nonwoven mat having a less permeable structure and a higher caliper.

摘要: A method for horizontally splitting rolled-up web material in the sample thickness. A carbon fiber nonwoven is moved in relation to a knife structure in order to split off a layer or successively several layers from a roll web. The one layer or several layers are continuously removed in the form of a roll from the carbon fiber nonwoven after the splitting process.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a sensor element or an active component of a sensor element. The sensor element is applied in a field device of automation technology. The method comprises the following method steps: predetermining at least two materials with different physical and chemical properties depending on a functionality of the sensor element or the active component of the sensor element; predetermining an outer shape, into which the at least two materials should be formed, the outer shape being divided into a plurality of virtual spatial regions, wherein in each virtual spatial region the material distribution of the at least two materials occurs homogeneously and periodically according to predetermined rules corresponding to a microstructure. The method also includes steps of ascertaining the predetermined rules via a computer supported method depending on the predetermined functionality of the sensor element or the active component of the sensor element.

摘要: One or more nanofiber yarns can be placed in contact with one or more nanofiber sheets. The nanofiber yarns, which include single-ply and multi-ply nanofiber yarns, provide added mechanical stability to a nanofiber sheet that decreases the likelihood of a nanofiber sheet wrinkling, folding, or otherwise becoming stuck to itself. Furthermore, the nanofiber yarns integrated with the nanofiber sheet can also act as a mechanism to prevent the propagation of tears through the nanofiber sheet. In some cases, an infiltrating material can be infiltrated into interstitial spaces defined by the nanofibers within both the nanofiber yarns and the nanofiber sheets. The infiltrating material can then form a continuous network throughout the nanofiber yarns and the nanofiber sheet.

摘要: A method for arranging nanotube elements within nanotube fabric layers and films is disclosed. A directional force is applied over a nanotube fabric layer to render the fabric layer into an ordered network of nanotube elements. That is, a network of nanotube elements drawn together along their sidewalls and substantially oriented in a uniform direction. In some embodiments this directional force is applied by rolling a cylindrical element over the fabric layer. In other embodiments this directional force is applied by passing a rubbing material over the surface of a nanotube fabric layer. In other embodiments this directional force is applied by running a polishing material over the nanotube fabric layer for a predetermined time. Exemplary rolling, rubbing, and polishing apparatuses are also disclosed.
